I cant seem to find tigecycline, or what it's called. The new kind of tetracycline.

Tigecycline still not there but probably should be. Rod57 (talk) 13:57, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Just wondering about adding enrofloxacin, in the class fluoroquinolone. Lizzy0229 (talk) 16:12, 26 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Enrofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone and can be added.DiptanshuTalk 09:31, 14 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wikireader

tables don't show up in wikireader. i know it's a limitation of the device itself, but still it's disappointing that no list shows up —Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.11.147.114 (talk) 02:09, 2 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What to include

Is this list just for antibiotics approved by some regulator for use in humans ? or does it include veterinary or experimental antibiotics ? It does include 2 experimental Ansamycins but there must be scores of other experimental/investigational antibiotics. Rod57 (talk) 13:48, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Misplaced antibiotic

Spectinomycin is an aminoglycoside, not a macrolide. 69.72.27.158 (talk) 07:20, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for pointing out. Moved Spectinomycin.DiptanshuTalk 09:43, 14 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Dual indications

For the mycobacterial drugs, if they are also used for other bacterial infections should they be listed both under their traditional class as well? Or just under mycobacterial drugs? I'm mostly referring to rifampicin and streptomycin. Banielse (talk) 08:18, 16 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Although Rifampicin and Streptomycin are also used in certain other bacterial infections, they are primarily listed as anti-mycobacterial drugs. They do not need to be listed under separate class.DiptanshuTalk 15:16, 25 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Doxycycline

Doxycycline has activity against MRSA, can the chart be updated to relect this?

"Oral antibiotics belonging to the tetracycline family, including minocycline and doxycycline, provide an effective means of treating CA-MRSA [community-acquired mrsa] infections." - https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2923949/ 45.17.113.180 (talk) 18:58, 22 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
