The result of the move request was: No consensus. No firm evidence as to what the English common name is, and nominator isn't certain either, (and is happy to withdraw), so can't call this one way or the other. — Amakuru (talk) 10:27, 27 June 2017 (UTC)
Indonesian Ulema Council → Majelis Ulama Indonesia – Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI) is the official name. Mohamadhzanhari (talk) 22:49, 18 June 2017 (UTC)
- This is a contested technical request (permalink). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 03:29, 19 June 2017 (UTC)
- Is it the common name in English? Mohamadhzanhari, please clarify in details, as I have no time to research this, and tend to think the original article name is appropriate. Materialscientist (talk) 01:58, 19 June 2017 (UTC)
- In the cited BBC article this council is referred to as the 'Indonesian Ulema Council' which is what we currently call it on Wikipedia. But the BBC also refers to this body as the MUI, which are the initials of the local-language name. Suggest that a RM be opened since the matter is not obvious. - @Mohamadhzanhari, Materialscientist, and EdJohnston: Queried move request Anthony Appleyard (talk) 03:29, 19 June 2017 (UTC)
- I read the WP:NC. I didn't know before that Wikipedia does not necessarily use the subject's "official" name as an article title. If "Indonesian Ulema Council" is widely used in English-language, then you can cancel this request. Mohamadhzanhari (talk) 08:43, 19 June 2017 (UTC)
