Merger proposal

I propose merging this article with the article for Incidentaloma. Although this article is introduced as a general entry for "previously undiagnosed medical or psychiatric conditions," the substance of the article is about incidental findings during medical imaging, which relates directly to Incidentaloma.

I propose that the new merged page be titled "incidental medical finding," or perhaps more specifically "incidental imaging finding." The term "incidentaloma" is a medical colloquialism. Although it is commonly used, there is no concrete etymology and terminology of "incidental findings" has been adopted by several medical societies, as discussed on the talk page for incidentaloma. I am not sure. Let's talk more at incidentaloma, because that is the more established concept and because we are already having a conversation there. Blue Rasberry (talk) 17:20, 4 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Rename

Following discussion at the incidentaloma talk page I renamed this from "incidental findings" to "incidental medical findings". While "incidental medical findings" is not a standard term for this concept, there are a range of standard terms, and at least "incidental medical findings" is close to a popular standard term and easy to understand.
