I popped in and saw the line "In a 2014 report ranking developed-country healthcare systems, the United Kingdom was ranked the best healthcare system in the world overall", wondered who it was by, checked the reference and updated the text because the authors have a wiki page.
Continuing to the read the article I then see "The UK's palliative care has also been ranked as the best in the world". I'm not going to put "by whom?" links everywhere because the people who are editing this full well know and I'm willing to be the rest of the article is going to be awfully skewed by POV and use of underhand weasely methods. Can I remind everyone that this is an encyclopaedia and to remain vigilant in the way information is given (i.e. NPOV) because we can do much better than this. Thanks. I think this refers to the Commonwealth Fund's periodic international comparisons. There was a refreshed version this year - [1]. The NHS is not rated the "best in the world" but as very efficient in the 11 countries examined - i.e. delivering the most amount of care per £ spent. Various media outlets have erroneously resported this as indicating "best", but the latest report lists the UK 10th out of 11 for healthcare outcomes!
