Talk:Glucose-6-phosphate isomerase

This enzyme does have two roles, both as a glucose isomerease, but also a phosphoglucose/ glucose phosphate isomerase. I feel that the most commonly used and more important role in biochemistry is as the phosphoglucose/ glucose phosphate isomerase, so would be a more appropriate title for the article. It was requested that this article be renamed but the procedure outlined at WP:RM#Steps for requesting a controversial page move did not appear to be followed, and consensus could not be determined. diagram placement issue

Early in this article, a diagram showing the conversion of glucose to fructose overwrites text to its right. It is a rather wide diagrama dn might be well if changed to a vertical format, or alternatively moved far enough down to prevent the interference. Nice diagram, though.

Can someone related to this diagram make the shanges? ww 22:14, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Optimum pH

Anybody know the optimum pH of this enzyme or at least which range it is in. (acidic or alkaline)

Where is this enzyme used???

Does anybody know any industrial applications of this enzyme?? Any ideas would be appreciated! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.31.23.1 (talk) 18:02, 11 September 2007 (UTC) Its used in the manufacturing of high glucose syrups —Preceding unsigned comment added by 140.203.12.3 (talk) 16:08, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

alpha/beta of F1,6BP wrong

The resulting F1,6BP claims that a beta anomer is formed, but the diagram shows an alpha anomer. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.84.159.57 (talk) 20:11, 7 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

enzyme function missing in intro section

Since an enzyme's primary purpose is largely its catalytic function, it seems that a quick statement about its chemcial reaction would be appropriate in the intro section. 24.145.43.45 (talk) 23:27, 20 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
