What?

Not all criticism is useful. This article is perfectly clear as far as it goes, but contains insufficient data on the drug's development, interactions, side-effects, and contraindications, and there should be some discussion of its use in combination with other drugs. This is particularly important since many physicians employ a combination therapy (e.g., a sulfonylurea and metformin) and since many type II diabetics also have cardiovascular or renal problems. Half-life

What's the biological half-life? The article says it's 5 hours. My primary care physician said it's closer to 9-10 hours. I think the article could be improved with a citation to appropriate research -- especially if 5 hours is wrong. I understand that the reality could be more complicated than simple exponential decay. Glimepiride might go through several stages in the body, and the ingested form might have a half-life of 5 hours but half of a subsequent form could still be present 10 hours later.
