Could someone please point me in the right direction where it says you are not allowed to post fan sites?

But you are?

G4 name?

Trivia section: G4 name inspired by a microprocessor, despite having been said earlier on the page that it came from another inspiration. Which one is it? I'll comment out the trivia section until a reference can be cited. --naz 16:42, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There are many citing's of their name - here is one of them [1]

Updating

This article is currently written in the style of a current group and now they have split needs parts rewriting to indicate this, i.e. bits need to be written in the past tense

No, they won't disband until after their tour, so they are still a current group. - ǀ Mikay ǀ 16:24, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies, I was under the wrong impression and the request for updating the article has correctly been retracted. Sorry for any inconvenience caused, I now agree the article should remain in the present until after tour.

Haha, it's all good. You know it when one of your favourite bands split up, and you want to hold onto them for as long as possible!!!! :P - ǀ Mikay ǀ 09:31, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Page move?

As someone just pointed out, G4 are a group, not a band. Should the page be moved to G4 (group)? anemone|projectors 16:02, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No, no, no. Of course they're a band! Plus, I'm pretty sure Wiki policy is to have musical groups listed as "bands" .. just like we disambiguate films as films and not movies. - ǀ Mikay ǀ 10:36, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Just to back up my above comment:

"When necessary, disambiguation should be done using (band), (album), or (song) (such as Anthrax (band) or Insomniac (album)); use further disambiguation only when needed (for example X (U.S. band), X (Australian band))."

The above is from WP:NAME. - ǀ Mikay ǀ 10:41, 28 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:G4(band).jpg

Image:G4(band).jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
