Merge discussion

@Joflaher: Formyl peptide receptors is the same topic as the pre-existing Formyl peptide receptor. Hence these two articles should be merged. Also per WP:SINGULAR, Wikipedia article names normally take the singular. Hence the direction of the merger should be from Formyl peptide receptors (plural) to Formyl peptide receptor (singular). Finally in addition to protein family articles, we generally maintain separate articles for each gene. Hence I have restored the Formyl peptide receptor 1 article to its previous state. During the next week or so, I will add the information on formyl peptide receptor 1, formyl peptide receptor 2, and formyl peptide receptor 3 and their genes as found in Formyl Peptide Receptors to the individual receptor and gene pages. You should know that these individual receptor and gene pages used an older nomenclature that can be confusing, that some of these pages had very little information, and that just about all of these pages need updating. The changes that I will make should help remedy these issues. O.K.? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Joflaher (talkcontribs) 17:22, 14 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
OK, that sounds good. I realize that the protein nomenclature can be very confusing. Boghog (talk) 17:40, 14 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Essentially all of "Formyl peptide receptors" section has now been integrated into either Formyl peptide receptor 1, Formyl peptide receptor 2, Formyl peptide receptor 3, or N-Formylmethionine-leucyl-phenylalanine sections. This makes the Formyl peptide receptors section redundant and therefore a candidate for deletion or severe shortening to a a brief explanation of the confusing terminology given to these receptors along with the linkages to the sections of each of the different receptors in this subfamily. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Joflaher (talkcontribs) 13:55, 30 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
