Autophagy in this article

What is the best way to introduce autophagy in this article? The problem is religions claim their fasting is autophagy, which is not. I have yet to find if any religious fasting includes autophagy because of the nature of fasting.

Significant autophagy and high level of ketosis occur in special fasting which is rarely found in any religious fasting, yet all religions claim their fasting has the benefit of autophagy and ketosis. For example, for significant autophagy and high level of ketosis to occur, you need to fast for at least 24 hours. This 24 hours is not restricted for certain 'auspicious time'. That too varies from human to human. During the fasting you can drink water and (probably) can take vitamins and minerals.

So how to include the scientific concept of autophagy and ketosis in this article and simultaneously block the opportunities of religions to use this article to spread false science? Kawrno Baba (talk) 07:44, 27 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
