Needs updating

The references for this article span 2004 to 2009, with most of them being around 2007... which is 6 years ago now. Since the article says the vaccine is new and undergoing clinical trials, it's likely that by now the trials are largely complete and the results are known, with either poor efficacy leading to further research, or good efficacy leading to licensing of the vaccine in various countries. Either way this article surely needs a rewrite. Anyone with any more current information on this?

Also there should be mention of mononucleosis (glandular fever) and how many strains are protected against etc, since that's by far the most prominent reason anyone would visit this article. Dan Pope (talk) 12:48, 11 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Clinical trial status

The Moderna clinical trial has started (https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT05164094), but wikipedia policy is NOT to link to clinical trial sites. Indeed, the discussion of Moderna's trial status would seem to violate that rule. ("Don't use external links [for] clinical trials"[articles]. See Template:ClinicalTrialsGov

I would think a page specifically on the vaccine should not address EBV-related illnesses. It should address the approach (e.g., the epitopes of interest, how the EBV lifecycle in B and epithelial cells present difficulties for vaccines, etc.).
