Risk Stratification nonsense

"Presence of 1 of these indicates severe disease (5-year mortality 26%) and 2 or more very severe disease (mortality 46%), while absence of any of these 5 indicates a milder case (mortality 11.9%)."

That seems to contradict itself fairly massively, I suspect someone has attempted to summarise the source too heavily and missed some important element. As I don't have access to pubmed, or the expertise to really interpret the contents, I can't help. Someone needs to correct, or erase, the section.

LTA

Leukotriene antagonists have been linked with CSS. This is probably due to steroid withdrawal. An anon added a 1997 report about this, but since then there have been many reports weakening the association.

What causes it?

This article really needs more about the cause of the syndrome. Please improve!

As a Doctor and a patient with this condition - as far as I'm aware (I don't specialise in rhematological disorders such as this however) there isn't currently a known cause and therefore that would clearly be why there is not a section dedicated to it. You can just look at patient information sites such as http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/churg-strauss-syndrome/basics/causes/con-20028895 and see it states "The exact cause of Churg-Strauss syndrome is unknown.". I've read 100s of papers on this disease and there have been a range of hypothesis put forward but considering the scope and the lack of evidence behind most of these I think it stands to not include a causative section as it simply is not known. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.5.73.198 (talk) 01:10, 8 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Overlap of eosinophilia causes

High eosinophils can be caused by so many other things. Look at the criteria for assuming CSS and each one can be explained by some other cause. Viral, parasitic, etc.
