Poetry

I know that EYB published a volume of poetry in her early to mid 20s (the early 1970s), but I can't find anything about it on line. I've seen the book, but it was 30 years ago. Does anyone know the title? -- Jmabel | Talk 00:54, 13 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

(Lack of) biographical material

There seems to be very little biographical material about Young-Bruehl on line (although there is tons of material about her writings). I know that at Wesleyan she was originally on the faculty of the College of Letters, because I had the pleasure of taking a year-long class from her there; I gather that later she taught in the Women's Studies department there. She was an outspoken radical: I remember her being one of the few faculty who would speak publicly (and stridently) in a roomful of students about her disagreement with the administration over financial matters; she once walked out on a lecture by Leslie Fiedler, who she felt had lost his political edge. And she had great stories about living in Italy for a year, and about briefly traveling with an Italian circus, but I don't think she has written anywhere about that. I know that she has been very outspoken also in matters relating to sexuality, especially her positive views on bisexuality. But I don't have any documentation for any of this. If someone does, it would be a welcome addition to the article. Some of it might be painstakingly gleaned from announcements and reviews of her public lectures. And it wouldn't astound me if some reviewers of her books have written about her as a person, as well. I'm wondering if there might be some good print sources for things that are not readily on line. -- Jmabel | Talk 01:46, 13 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Another important book of her

Thanks, I didn't even know about this one! - Jmabel | Talk 21:14, 25 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
But it's listed in the article. Is there something you wanted to say about it? You are right that it is only listed & not discussed. - Jmabel | Talk 21:16, 25 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Obituary

Obituary from the Toronto Globe and Mail, probably the best of the obituaries I've seen. Anyone working further on this article should use this. - Jmabel | Talk 16:26, 8 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
