Thyroid hormone receptor antagonism

Some studies suggest thyroid hormone receptor antagonism, and one paper seemed to suggest greated alveolar macrophage toxicity than amiodarone! Something we may need to include, but awaiting an up-to-date citable review paper on the properties of this drug. JFW | T@lk 22:19, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nice review article

From the Cleveland Clinic Journal of Medicine, March 2011:

Adverse Reactions, Warnings and Precautions

I have reverted this edit for the time being as it looks like a direct copy and paste copy violation. Additionally the warnings and precautions section MAY be country specific (i.e. there may be variations between what Health Canada and the FDA list as a warning and precaution) as such it may be a good time to discuss that point as well. Also does the article really need a line by line copy of the monograph such as this? Mrfrobinson (talk) 22:06, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Grillo7 Thanks for adding safety information to this article. I feel that drug articles should include safety information, and I appreciate your intent to adding it.
Mrfrobinson, Wikipedia does not yet have standardized practices for documenting regional variations for standards of care. Historically in cases where there is not a reason to believe that health information is universally applicable, information about health standards are presented as if it were universally applicable. I suggest that there is no need to name regional variations until two conflicting statements appear in an article. Right now, practically all health articles are so lacking in information content that this has hardly happened, and it seems strange to exclude good information on the supposition that perhaps somewhere some unknown source would conflict with it. Thoughts?
Grillo7, Mrfrobinson is correct that the information in this report cannot be directly cut and pasted because the document you cite says "©sanofi-aventis 2014", so it is copyrighted by that company. I would support your re-adding this to the article if you re-write the text in your own words. If you need help doing this then ping me. Thanks again. Blueraspberry and :Mrfrobinson, thank you for the discussion and tips related to this topic and revert. I want to first apologize for adding material under copyright...I was initially mistaken in thinking this information was supplied by the US FDA and therefore in public domain, and was wrong about this. I believe strongly, however, that Wikipedia should include safety information for medications, and also agree with your reasoning, :Blueraspberry, regarding regional variations. I will attempt to re-word the edits, but I"m often short of time for editing, so I welcome anyone else's help with this as well. Thanks again.Grillo7 (talk) 13:29, 5 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Grillo7 Everyone regularly on Wikipedia and especially the health editors are often tapped for time. I myself add drug safety information a few times a month but I am still on OTC medication and cannot get to more specialized drugs at this time. If you can find anyone else who would volunteer their time to do this then I could volunteer to train them online, but at this time I cannot volunteer to manage more than that.
It is a total pain to re-write drug safety information because that kind of text ought to be free for the public to share as they like. Someday industry and government will catch up but that day has not happened, and drug companies retain copyright on even information which they public has a right to have.
