Clarification needed regarding the eye

"For example, once the rash of measles fades, there is desquamation. Also seen in Toxic Shock Syndrome in the eye, the epithelial basement membrane (lens capsule) completely encloses the lens,..."

This seems confused. First, presumably the statement about measles relates to anywhere on the exterior of the body, since it's discussing a rash, right?

Then the second sentence is unrelated, and probably should start a new paragraph. And what is it that is "also seen"? From the syntax it must be the epithelial basement membrane, but why would a membrane be seen in a syndrome?

Then the 3rd para "Nonpathological desquamation..." returns to discussion of the general skin situation. I'm thinking that maybe the discussion on the special situation of the eye would make more sense after the general skin discussion.

Maybe someone who knows this field could make this clearer? Gwideman (talk) 11:08, 13 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I went through the history, found the problem(s), and fixed them. Issues corrected: removed plagiarized material from PLoS ONE; organized more logically; expanded significantly; assorted grammar and usage fixes. --Ginkgo100talk 03:46, 6 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Pityriasis

Can someone explain in the article what the difference is between desquamation and pityriasis? Eric Kvaalen (talk) 06:56, 17 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
