Proposed merge with Craniostenosis

Craniosynostosis and craniostenosis are not the same thing. A child can have early fusion of the cranial bones (craniosynostosis) without having stenosis, which is a restriction on the space available for the brain to grow. Alternatively, craniostenosis can develop for reasons other than craniosynostosis.

Support: as far as I can tell, the two names are synonymous. I propose the new article be called Craniosynostosis as that name has more articles wikilinked to it. Rosemary Amey 04:46, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

craniosynostosis/ posterior plagiocephaly,/lambdoid synostosis

The term  posterior plagiocephaly,is reference to WHAT it does to the shape of the head and is not lambdoid cranialsynostosis as this can occur from suppine positioning in newborns, but not present with a craniosynostosis.lambdoid craniosynostosis IS the actual name for the disorder in which the lambdoid suture is prematurely closed.  — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.5.5.109 (talk) 23:36, 29 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Historical name
