"There can be no doubt that this literary example only made sense because the possibility of poisoning from eating quail was widely understood."

This sentence appears at the beginning of the second paragraph of the History section. It is not at all true, however: an equally valid interpretation is that the writers saw the quails eating things toxic to humans, but saw that the quails suffered no ill effect. I am removing this sentence from the article. -- (talk) 22:56, 17 November 2015 (UTC)
