Scope

This article could go in many different directions. In the history of HIV almost every government in the world had broad public discussions about how to fund a response to the HIV epidemic. Many countries or regions shared the same strategies to purchase and distribute treatments, so many things could be generalized. Frequently there were protests by people who wanted treatment but could not access it. In other cases costs where, for whatever reason, simply not paid and the the epidemic was left to run as it would.

I cannot propose an outline for this article, but I think if anyone did searching of any kind there are sources for many countries telling the stories of what everyone did in response to HIV and its accompanying cost burden to treat. Blue Rasberry (talk) 17:20, 10 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Cost of PreP

A few years ago there was no pre-exposure prophylaxis so there was no need to include that here.

Nowadays PreP is expensive. Wealthy countries grant access to it through inexplicable accounting and poor countries either give access through even stranger accounting or cannot offer it at all.

Here is a podcast from today saying something about this.

-- sorry my outdated browser didn't work on the create new section link.

a reduction from 10'000 down to 6'400 is by 36 percent, not just 20 .

a bit embarrassing when wikipedians can't do the maths even when it's this obvious.

another sorry for not fixing it myself, but i don't touch articles because of bad experience of being habitually reverted. ;)
