Brazil's in the northern hemisphere? That's new to me.... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 143.107.133.138 (talk) 14:27, 19 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've expanded the article by paraphrasing the UN content on the web page referred to. This now needs Wikifying and would benefit from some discussion of the impact of citrus production on the countires concerned. --212.219.231.1 6 July 2005 11:14 (UTC)

  • sorry I'm actually --Dave63 6 July 2005 11:16 (UTC) but got timed out

I haven't found much on the history of citrus "production"; the section I put in may better fit citrus. I will also be looking for economic impact and more detailed production details for specific countries. I could use some help with research outside the U.S. .:.Jareth.:. babelfish July 6, 2005 17:45 (UTC)

Stub?

It doesn't seem very stubish anymore to me. I haven't been editing very long, so I didn't want to remove the stub tag.

Citrus Canker

Shouldn't there be a paragraph somewhere to the impact Citrus Canker makes on Citrus Production whenever there is an outbreak? Like a "main article: Citrus Canker" and then some details? I live in South Florida and the first thing I think of when I see "Citrus Production" is Citrus Canker, because it's made such an impact.astiquetalk 8 July 2005 03:08 (UTC)

Brazil

I am unable to find information about which area of Brazil is devoted to citrus production, but I am fairly sure that it is in the southern hemisphere, as only a small portion of the country is north of the equator. The statement "Around 70% of the world's total citrus production is grown in the Northern Hemisphere, in particular Brazil, countries around the Mediterranean and the United States", might need to be changed to reflect that. Totally misleading production figures ("citrus nes")

The table presented the minor types of citrus as if this were the world's production. The "nes" in the FAO listing means "not elsewhere specified"; it doesn't include production of oranges, of grapefruit and pomelos, and who knows what else. Somebody should make tables for the real, significant portion of the world's citrus production, and not present the totally misleading figures here standing alone. Map

The map of world citrus production includes a section in the middle of USA (somewhere around Kansas, I believe). This doesn't seem correct, as the four US states known for citrus production are CA, AZ, TX, and FL (as the page correctly states). The error seems to be in the original source of the map. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.249.150.231 (talk) 13:25, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The green and red map is extremely difficult to discern for color blind individuals. As a colorblind individual myself, this map is nearly impossible to read. The whole map seems to just be one color. Jyeomans (talk) 19:34, 12 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
