Chylomicron formation?

Is there any information available on the formation of chylomicrons in the enterocytes themselves? are they constructed in special compartments, or do they get assembled in the cytosol? Furthermore how do they get secreted into the lacteals, what exact mechanisms allow them to pass the basolateral cell membrane?
Thanks to anyone willing to answer those questions form me :)

  • I'm currently reading an article about the formation and transport of chylomicrons. (It's actually an editorial review, not a research article.) In any case, the article was written by Patrick Tso and John A. Balint, and was published in 1986 in the American Physiological Society. The title is "Formation and transport of chylomicrons by enterocytes to the lymphatics". Because it's been over 20 years, the information might be dated, but I hope you find some useful information. --Acetyl256 (talk) 03:24, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

pancreatic lipase digest triglycerides to 2 fatty acids and 2-mono acylglycerol then these enter the enterocytes to rebuilt again to triglyceride in the smooth endoplasmic reticulum and bind to freshly synthesized lipoproteins ( apo-b 48 large one and a small one called lipoprotein a-1) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.98.91.156 (talk) 13:42, 28 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

proper way to measure chylomicrons

Excellent if someone could append this article to include info on how properly to measure chylomicrons. I would be interested in a panel covering all 5 lipoproteins (chyl, VLDL, IDL, LDL, HDL). This could be interesting, but rare to find papers by groups with competence and experience to perform such an assay. Thanks in advance!
