History section

I have added a history section, to where I have moved "the origin of the term". A problem I can see is that this article has sections only on audiology in GB and India, while now the history refers only to the USA! Maybe an audiologist historian can fix that, so that one has an overview of the development in the world. This is probably closely related to technological advances, as much as to a caring ethos and clinical skills. The profession being of recent origin, my guess is that the documentation should be available somewhere. A US citizen may add something about the science in that country. --Seejyb 11:30, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

UK service provision

The Commons Health Select Committee has reviewed service provision and its problems in the UK, with a report in May this year: here. Perhaps worth mentioning. JFW | T@lk 20:47, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed Information

The section regarding training in the United States lists 52 states. Obviously, there's 50 states. If this refers to two American Territories, it should specify which territories. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.172.25.195 (talk) 00:18, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In the main section about audiology and audiologists - there were two paragraphs about Hearing Aid dispensers and what they do. This was removed as this information should be on the page regarding hearing aid dispensing. Additionally, there were statements that were inaccurate in the removed paragraph about licensure and certification. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.94.196.254 (talk) 15:13, 8 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Updates to organization and adding content

Hello all, I would like to reorganize the introduction section by consolidating the information there to be about audiology and move the information about audiologists to the audiologist section, the audiologist section could use some organization which I would like to organize in a 5 "W" questions way, and lastly, I'd like to add any information I find on the genesis of the field of audiology. I have heard that it began in America as a split from speech language pathologist when they began rehabilitation for WWII veterans who incurred hearing loss during their service. I will of course need to do some research for this before adding it. Does anyone have any feedback on my designs? I am open to suggestions and edits of course.
