What about Watson?

"Sherlock Holmes is the single most frequently filmed fictional character" - for every Holmes there is a Watson, surley? Therefore Holmes and Watson should be (more or less) tied in this respect. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.71.166.34 (talk) 16:48, 16 April 2009 (UTC) That's an assumption, not a fact. I recall a Sherlock Holmes film (possibly a orphaned TV pilot) in which Holmes is found frozen by Watson's grand-daughter so Watson himself doesn't appear (IIRC). Fair use rationale for Image:Jeremy Brett.jpg

Image:Jeremy Brett.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. They Might be Giants

They Might Be Giants (1971)Starring: George C. Scott (Holmes), Joanne Woodward (Watson) Director: Anthony Harvey (II)is a cult classic and should definitely be included in the film section of the Sherlock Holmes listing. New Sherlock Holmes audio series

There's a new official (by official I mean licensed) Sherlock Holmes audio series by the company Big Finish Productions. Here's a link about the series: http://www.bigfinish.com/ranges/sherlock-holmes/. Already a first series has been made with 3 original stories (I think original) which are "The Last Act", "The Death and Life" and "Holmes and the Ripper". Sherlock Holmes in other media → Adaptations of Sherlock Holmes — Just seems a more snappy title. "In other media" is quite vague, and "Adaptations of X" is used in other articles, such as Adaptations of The Wizard of Oz, Adaptations of Moby-Dick and Adaptations of The Lord of the Rings. —84.92.117.93 (talk) 16:38, 1 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Film/Basil Rathbone Series

The film part of this entry is particularly weak and would merit an entry of its own (like, for instance, Tarzen depicted in film, which has has its own entry). Adaptation of Sherlock Holmes in Japan

I don't quite understand as to how Sherlock Holmes in manga and anime can't be related to this article. Is there a nice explanation to this?--Bumblezellio (talk) 06:51, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Content dispute

Diogenesnyc (talk · contribs) has added text about Edith Meiser in the radio section. I don't believe xe has properly clarified Meiser's role in the history, nor do I believe that xyr sources are valid. Xe claims that Meiser wrote a program for the NBC radio network, but xe doesn't give a name or air date for this program. The article does mention a program named The New Adventures of Sherlock Holmes that was broadcast through the late 1930s and 1940s, but this show is credited to different writers and doesn't appear to be the one xe's mentioning. I understand that xyr sources appear to be somewhat vague (and the Archive.org page appears to be part of their Wiki (i.e. user editable content) and therefore does not qualify as a reliable source). I invite comment regarding this content. Given the vagueness and unreliability of the sources, I disinclined to allow this material to remain.
