Christian (“Chris”) R. Mouchbahani is currently Managing Partner of M Capital Group - MCG, a Merchant Bank firm active in principal merchant banking investments, global advisory, and asset management. M Capital Group has three major hubs in New York, London, and Dubai.[1]

Chris Mouchbahani has a recognized track record in private equity, venture capital, investment banking, asset management, and strategic advisory.[2] He has held senior international management and board member positions in major financial institutions, funds, and companies. [3]

Career

Mr. Mouchbahani is Managing Partner of M Capital Group - MCG, a renowned merchant banking, global advisory, and asset management firm with three major hubs in New York, London, and Dubai.[4] Founded in 1905, M Capital Group draws upon a long history of past established firms, across the world over the last 100 years, that started in shipping, banking, and other business trade and ventures.[5] MCG has developed industry expertise in financial institutions, asset management, education, real estate, technology, industrial, cleantech, oil and gas, transportation and infrastructure, services, data center, retail, telecommunications, power, and aerospace.[6][7]

Chris Mouchbahani previously served as the Chief Executive Officer of Jefferies Middle East and North Africa and held senior positions at Paribas and BNP Paribas in New York, London, and Paris.[8][9][10] He has also been actively involved in several leading start-up ventures, in principal investments, advisory transactions, asset management, and private equity funds.[11][12]

Mr. Mouchbahani was appointed as a Head of Corporate Finance and management board member at Dubai Bank and a director at The National Investor, an investment management and advisory firm based in Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates.[13]

Mr. Mouchbahani was also nominated as Secretary General of the Privatization Commission of Lebanon.

Contribution

Chris Mouchbahani is a member of the President’s Global Council of New York University and serves on theAdvisory Board of City - University of London.[14][15] Mr. Mouchbahani is also a board member of the International School Bangalore (“EISB”), and Universal SkillTech University.[16][17]

Mr.Mouchbahani is on the Advisory Board of Moravia Capital AG, a private equity advisory and fund management firm.[18]

Mr.Mouchbahani was also featured at the US largest regional data center conference, CAPRES.[19][20][21]

Quoted by Bloomberg, Mr. Mouchbahani is also an opinion leader on the GCC, Saudi Arabia, and Islamic Finance.[22] He was a lead speaker on the emerging Islamic finance markets at the “International Islamic Leadership Summit” in Turkey.[23] Chris Mouchbahani was also provided strategic advice and capital to a major US$500million real estate development in Sao Paolo, Brazil.[24] While being quoted at the US Real Estate Meeting hosted by Carmo Companies on the US real estate market.[25]

According to Arab News, Chris Mouchbahani, CEO of Jefferies Investment Bank in the Middle East and North Africa,  saw the earlier potential positive outlook of Saudi Arabia to become a crucial economic beacon with promising growth potential. Mr. Mouchbahani stated that the Gulf Cooperation Council region is changing rapidly, with the traditional reliance on commodities, particularly oil, shifting towards finance, services and investment.[26] Mr. Mouchbahani also highlighted that Saudi Arabia is a key area in the region that offers tremendous potential for growth and that the development of capital markets in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a ground-breaking exercise.[27]

With extensive senior relationships and networks across the US, Europe, and the MENA, Mr. Mouchbahani has built strong networks with corporations, investment funds, sovereign wealth funds, and high-net-worth individuals.[28][29] He has been prominently featured in various press channels, including The Economic Times, Gulf News, and the World Economic Forum (“WEF”). [30][31][32] His expertise has also been highlighted by Bloomberg, CNBC, the Financial Times, CNN, Forbes, and The Banker.[22]

Education

Mr. Mouchbahani graduated from New York University - Stern with a BS in Economics and received his MBAfrom Columbia Business School. He is fluent in English, French, German, and Arabic.
