Alcohol most commonly refers to:

  • Ethanol, one of several alcohols, commonly known as alcohol in everyday life
    • Alcoholic beverage, often referred to as "alcohol", any drink containing ethanol
    • Alcohol (drug), intoxicant found in alcoholic beverages
    • Surrogate alcohol, substance containing ethanol that is intentionally consumed by humans but is not meant for human consumption
