Getting started

I can help out with some of the chemistry behind these oils. It might not amount to very much, most of them will be very complex mixtures of very weird terpenes - and that's difficult to talk about without it becoming a list or overly technical. Maybe just discuss some facts dealing with how the oils are distilled. Atm, we really need people to add their names to the participants list and work on making the project page look pretty. Thanks a million Osprey Ilikeguys21 (talk) 21:06, 3 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Some suggestions

trim the list way down. Focus on 10 or so important oils. If you do that, then other editors are more inclined to help. You can always add more specialized oils later.
possible organization: a) source of the essential oil, b) main chemical component (see Project Osprey remark above), c) main use, d) history
things to avoid: health benefits. These articles will attract this kind of "hippie science" regardless, often a violation of WP:MEDRS.

A new newsletter directory is out!

A new Newsletter directory has been created to replace the old, out-of-date one. If your WikiProject and its taskforces have newsletters (even inactive ones), or if you know of a missing newsletter (including from sister projects like WikiSpecies), please include it in the directory! The template can be a bit tricky, so if you need help, just post the newsletter on the template's talk page and someone will add it for you.
