Discussion in response to Kurt's oppose which is unrelated to the oppose and the RfA at hand

Comments that do not relate to the oppose and the RfA at hand go here. (Included the original oppose and response still in the project page for context, with reduced opacity.)
  1. Oppose—I view self-noms as prima facie evidence of power hunger. Kurt Weber (Go Colts!) 13:58, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, good call, Kurt. He's been here two years, and finally gets around to asking for the tools. That's definitely prima facie evidence of power hunger. rolls eyes S. Dean Jameson 14:39, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  1. You can't challenge Kurt! Help! Help! He's being repressed! SashaNein (talk) 14:42, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for accusing me of disruption. I appreciate it. The *rolls eyes* comment was just as 'helpful' and should've been moved to the talk page as well, but hey, playing favorites is all part of the broken soap opera. SashaNein (talk) 14:55, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    (i) I did not accuse you of disruption, I did not play favourites. (ii) This last comment belongs on my user talk page rather than here. (iii) Consider more carefully where to post what. user:Everyme 15:23, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'll be sure to be more careful in the future. After all, I'm not free to make such posts, unlike S. Dean Jameson. SashaNein (talk) 15:27, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Your comments won't be moved as long as there is any recognisable effort to comment on the situation at hand, which there was in S. Dean Jameson's comment, and which there was not in your comment. If any valid comment is moved, I'm the first one to fight viborously against that comment being moved. I moved your comment to enable serious debate that pertains to the RfA. Your "You can't challenge Kurt! Help! Help! He's being repressed!" does not under any circumstances constitute a valid contribution to the RfA discussion at hand. If you're unable to see that, I'm afraid that's your own problem, and I will not let you make it the problem of the community. user:Everyme 15:45, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with Everyme. However, for the record, pestering Kurt's votes is old news. Just realize that it will probably be there, and move on with your life. Qb | your 2 cents 15:57, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've seen what Kurt does. I consider it pointy and disruptive, but I usually don't respond. This time, I just considered his prima facie nonsense more ludicrous than usual, so I said something. I don't consider what I wrote "pestering" at all. S. Dean Jameson 16:02, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The prima facie is what he generally does. Or, did in the past. That one, specifically, is the oldest news.  :) Qb | your 2 cents 16:33, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Has there been one recent RfA that Kurt has opposed where his oppose wasn't blown up into a talk page discussion? He can oppose for whatever reason he wants. I've found that if there is one thing typing can't do, it's change somebody's mind about something they are steadfast on. Especially the mind of a, um, "iron-willed" person like Kurt. As much as you don't like it, Kurt will continue opposing, and will continue to have the right to do so. Erik the Red 2 (AVE·CAESAR) 16:41, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
He will continue to have the right to do so just like the rest of the community will have the right to challenge his rationale just like you will have the right to keep criticizing anyone opposing him every single time this comes up. SWik78 (talkcontribs) 17:02, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ahh, the circle of life. "Cant we all just get along?" Qb | your 2 cents 18:32, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I am growing tired of seeing a thread relating to Kurt's oppose on nearly every RfA talk page nowadays. If that's his honest opinion, just let him be. User:Giggy/On Kurt and RfA is a good essay to read. Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 18:40, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
    Qb, you got it. SWik78 (talkcontribs) 18:43, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Julian, opinions are pointless in the truest sense in a discussion. Participating in a discussion means offering everything you say up for analysis, deconstruction and potential refutation by more valid reasoning. Anyone who isn't prepared for that is heartily invited to not comment at all. user:Everyme 20:17, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
