Single-Purpose Accounts

These accounts - Altmin, Keepkeepkeep, Porpentine - appear to be single-purpose accounts (either for just this article or this one and Lauren Burk) and probably should be ignored by whoever eventually looks at this debate. Dizzy1976 is also suspect. Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? 09:10, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Single-purpose accounts, otherwise known as new users. :) Tlogmer ( talk / contributions ) 22:47, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like sock puppetry to me. BlueAg09 (Talk) 00:47, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. What new user, starting a Wikipedia account for the first time, would select the username Keepkeepkeep? Jonneroo (talk) 01:52, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It was Ole, trying to sound like a bird, but he couldn't find the "ch" key on the keyboard. Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? 02:03, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, this is the first time I have ever posted to Wikipedia, although I consult it every week of my life. Largely what was holding me back was the impression (which I hoped was incorrect) that the Wikipedia editorial community could be quite harshly exclusive to new users. Before I posted my comments, I did my best to research the relevant policies and to express myself clearly and in respectful terms. Now I am quite offended, I have to admit, to read this. Can you explain to me why my opinions deserve to be ignored? Or why my account should in any way be assumed to be a "sock puppet" account? I am really saddened to be shunned in this way on my first venture into what I had regarded as a very idealistic and democratic endeavor. I would welcome any explanation of why my opinions are being discounted that would renew my faith in the idealism of Wikipedia.Porpentine (talk) 02:47, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

keep: Eve's death will bring about some kind of powerful change in American culture. Probably to do with gangs and poverty or more awareness or something. Perhaps with a similar energy that was behind Amber Alerts and and other efforts of this kind.Zydegirl (talk) 10:37, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Kudos to admin Keeper76

My hat is off to User:Keeper76 who closed this debate. Even though I argued on the other side of his decision I offer sincere respect to Keeper for a well-articulated explanation of the decision and respect just for having the courage to tackle a difficult AFD closure. Had I been in his position I might have ducked the difficult decision. Out of curiousity, how does it come about that a particular admin ends up closing a particular debate? Is it a deliberate choice or something as simple as taking the next AFD in order? Sbowers3 (talk) 01:54, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
