WNS (Holdings) Limited (NYSE: WNS) is an Indian multinational business process management company headquartered in New York, London and Mumbai.
History
WNS was founded in 1996 by British Airways as Speed wing World Network Services in Mumbai. In May 2002, a 70% shareholding was sold to Warburg Pincus.[4]
- 1999 – A delivery center was launched in Pune, India.[5]
- 2004 – New centers were set up in Colombo in Sri Lanka and Gurgaon in India.[6]
- 2006 – Initial public offering listing on the NYSE, the first Indian business process outsourcing company to be listed on the exchange. It raised about $224 million at $20 per ADS.[7]
- 2012 –The first delivery center in North America was set up to service US clients.[8] During this year, a center was also set up in Poland.
- 2013 – Launched a new center in China[9] and Warburg Pincus sells its entire stake in WNS.
- 2014 – Launched a new center in Pennsylvania.[10]
Acquisitions
- 2012: Took over Fusion Outsourcing Services in South Africa.[11][12]
- 2016: Acquired Value Edge.[13]
- 2017: Acquired Denali Sourcing Services and Health Help.[14]
- 2022: WNS acquires Vuram, an enterprise automation services company,[15] The Smart Cube, a London-headquartered provider of platform-driven research and analytics[16] and OptiBuy, a Europe-based provider of procurement platform consulting and implementation solutions.[17]
