Wackelee is a video game modification (mod) of the 2001 fighting game Super Smash Bros. Melee for the GameCube, created by the group Toasted Ninja Toast. It is designed to have Melee's gameplay be quicker, flashier, and overall jankier. Wackelee's production began in late 2018 by solely Zuperbum at the time. In spring 2019, other members of Toasted Ninja Toast began to additionally help with the project. The game's first beta build was released to an online group on March 5, 2019 and has continued development since. The game has received had more than 50 downloads in it's short time being public.
Gameplay
Wackelee's gameplay differs from Melee's due to the fact that all characters have heavily modified visual, movement, and fighting attributes. Some characters' in game models are changed. An example would be that Captain Falcon's F-Zero emblem on his helmet is replaced with Fox McCloud's reflector on one of his colors.
On the character select screen, each character has a new title name, as well as a different portrait and series emblem appear when selected. For example, Falco has his named to "Batman" in reference to Batman the superhero.
