MfD

Hi Xoloz. I'll call by MfD a little later on. I even have a social life this evening, so I may be a little later than I currently expect. I might also ask AllyUnion if she could have her bot add MfD pages to AfD/Old so that they get some exposure. -Splashtalk 14:57, 2 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

In fact, nearly all of them were closed, apart from a few that I finished off. I have lopped them off of the the MfD page. We don't appear to have an archive of MfD debates (apart from on talk pages), so I've checked with Radiant!, who had closed most of them, if he's been putting them someplace other than the standard AfD archive. -Splashtalk 22:04, 2 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Luigi

When it's a close call, I am obliged to consider more factors than the numbers alone. This can include reasons for opposing. Luigi's were largely due to amount of activity, while Aranda's were more substantive, citing grammar and issues with AFD and deletion discussions; based on these and similar observations, I made an informed decision. MfD on Aspects of evolution

Please note that the only reason User:Ed Poor created the project was to avoid the consensus deletion of the Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Aspects of evolution article. --ScienceApologist 18:57, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

My issue is that he did this explicitly to get around an AfD that didn't go his way. If he wants to have his own musings on his talkpage, that's one thing, but to wholesale copy an article that was AfDed and claim that it is now a "WikiProject" doesn't seem to fit the guidelines about what a Wikiproject is. --ScienceApologist 19:15, 9 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for taking care of those. Despite having been around for three months already, I still have so much more to learn. I wasn't sure if that kind of thing could be speedied. Would you be able to speedy delete Template:Plumed Basilisk1, Template:Plumed Basilisk2, and Template:Pulmed Basilisk for me as well? I had listed them on WP:TfD just after the MfDs. Patience

Patience does seem to be what is lacking, I think you're right. Anyway, since it's been Christmas, it seems I have missed the bulk of the party. I had to leave for home very shortly after redeleting, and would not have had the time to do anything even if I had noticed the restoration/recreation. It seems that AfD has its teeth into the issue — again — but on a far wider scale than it did before. Hopefully, that will produce consensus one way or the other, and settle the issue (for the time being, at least) rather than meander into a no consensus. I just wanted to thank you for supporting me in my RfA. To tell you the truth, I was surprised by all the support I've gotten. I never saw myself as more than an occasional Wiki-hobbyist.

My wife sends her curses, as Wikipedia will likely suck up more of my time. She jokingly (I think) said she was tempted to log on to Wikipedia just to vote Oppose and let everyone know that she didn't want her husband to be an admin.

I don't know what the hell he's talking about with a different project. Brian's a bristly one, but that was probably over the line. The best thing to do since the rfa is going to fail is just ignore it and report it if it happens again, but I know how testy it can get in situations where people think good faith is in doubt. If you want to see real bad faith, just check Locke Cole's rfa today, POTW voted against even before it was on the rfa page.
