Oh No!

I have just logged back into my account, and my background colour and text layout (in the middle) has gone! :( All that work for nothing. Can you look at it and see what has been deleted (and change it(in your own time of course)? Thanks Matthew583 (talk) 23:41, 25 November 2011 (UTC)

it's back again, with the colors. I don't know which edit did it, but one of your edits this evening took away some of the formatting. Do you know about "History"? You can click back through the history of your page and restore it to any state in the past if you make a mistake. Wikipelli Talk 23:54, 25 November 2011 (UTC)

Demi Moore

Hi. At the BLP talk page, there is controversy over using Twitter at all. In any case, two Tweets saying the same thing is undue weight. I believe we should remove one of these two repetitive tweets, --108.21.104.134 (talk) 18:21, 2 December 2011 (UTC)

Good point. It was a hasty revert, I'm afraid, based on formatting issues i thought I saw. You're right and I've reverted back to your last version. I'll remove my warning from your page. Thanks! Wikipelli Talk 18:30, 2 December 2011 (UTC)

I compromised on a version with only one tweet, but apparently that not okay with you. And for the record, I have been discussing this issue at BLPN, RSN, ANI and at the talk page of Demi Moore for the past 24 hours, so don't say I am not discussing it. Nymf hideliho! 19:46, 2 December 2011 (UTC)

Arrested Development

Just a quick thank you for the support regarding Franklin and all, especially given that the editor who took issue with their OR being removed chose to leave a delightful message on my Talk page as well. Thanks! Doniago (talk) 19:08, 2 December 2011 (UTC)

Actually, it was that message on your talk page that got me riled! I saw it on Huggle and was going to leave them a message about attitude there.  :) Some people just don't take correction well.  :) Wikipelli Talk 19:11, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
That's pretty funny. I will admit to being "impressed" by their use of emphasis and the suggestion that if you can't fix everything wrong with an article then you shouldn't try to fix anything...productive! I thought about saying something about NPA, but right now I'm inclined not to fuel any fires...happy to see whether they speak up again and their tone if and when they do. :) Doniago (talk) 19:14, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
Provided you haven't seen it already, Zarg appears interested in continuing the conversation and continuing to insult "stickler" editors who are detracting from WP's value by not allowing the inclusion of "obvious" information. I considered an NPA warning, but as a clearly involved editor I'm not sure it would be productive coming from me. Doniago (talk) 18:00, 6 December 2011 (UTC)

Hello, regarding my edit on the Chinese people article, I do not believe it deserves warnings as "Chink" is a very common (although derogatory) term used to refer to a Chinese person. What is your reasoning for reverting my edits? 86.180.2.70 (talk) 23:12, 6 December 2011 (UTC)

Basically, I take issue with your claim that Chinese people are "often" called that. When makiing the change, you did not use an edit summary to explain your change nor did you cite any reference to support the claim. You're right, it is derogatory and I don't agree that they are often referred to in that way. However, if you feel strongly about it, it's a topic that should be taken up on the article's talk page. If there is consensus for the change, then it should be changed. Wikipelli Talk 00:49, 7 December 2011 (UTC)

WP:UWTEST update

Hi Wikipelli,

We're currently busy designing some new tests, and we need your feedback/input!

  1. ImageTaggingBot - a bot that warns users who upload images but don't provide adequate source or license information (drafts here)
  2. CorenSearchBot - a bot that warns users who copy-paste text from external websites or other Wikipedia articles (drafts here)

We also have a proposal to test new "accepted," "declined," and "on-hold" templates at Articles for Creation (drafts here). The discussion isn't closed yet, so please weigh in if you're interested.

Advertising on Wikipedia

Hiya Wikipelli

Please take a look at the recent edit (19 December 2011 by 24.113.180.69) on the County surveyor page. I do not think it is appropriate, as it appears to me to be advertising. I am unsure of the protocol for editing out advertising so could you please do to it whatever you think best.

yeah, I agree. It's advertising for a business and not really encyclopedic. I reverted it and gave the editor a notice. :) Wikipelli Talk 01:06, 20 December 2011 (UTC)

Hey!

My name is Daniel de Bourg... I'm trying to get my article deleted from wiki!

It's not accurate and although i've tried to change it I seem unable to do so. I'm unfamiliar with wiki....

Please can you have it removed asap! It's detrimental to my career and painful for my family as it stands.

you can email me here -

Many thanks

Daniel... Having the article removed is going to be quite difficult. It has been in existence for several years and notability is established. I'm afraid that the best you're going to be able to do is to fix information that is incorrect. You are in a bad position as the subject of the article, however. It will be hard for you to edit with a neutral hand. You might see information that you don't like but is accurate and cited. When this is the case, you will likely not be permitted to take the information out. (think about Barrack Obama, he probably really dislikes many things in the article about him but if they are accurate, he can't really have them deleted from an encyclopedia entry!).
Of course, it's not for me to say, but I don't see anything in the article that I would consider to be detrimental to one's career, but again, that wouldn't be for me to say.
You can (as you already have) ask that the article be deleted, but I doubt that that's going to happen unless you can conclusively show that the information is incorrect. Wikipelli Talk 18:45, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

The name of the son that Anita Hoffman had with Abbie is america. It says so on Abbie Hoffman's own page. Fair enough. I think you really ought to cite the change that you want to make and also use the edit summary (below the editing window) when you make a substantive change to the article. These are occupation specific templates that can hold information about people. I'll include on on this page as a start. January 2012

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Michele Bachmann presidential campaign, 2012 with this edit. When removing content, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the content has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Wikipelli Talk 16:35, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

I reviewed your page and it is clear that you are an editor with a lot of experience. However, your revert of my edit was inappropriate. What I did in the edit that you reverted was remove an unreliable source (Democraticconvention.com), which does not in any way meet the standards of Wikipedia reliability. In the same edit I replaced the unreliable, biased source with a tried and true reliable source, ABC News. Now, your mistake of reverting me was fixed by another editor, who did exactly the same edit that I did, you can review that edit here: a proper removal of an unreliable source with a reliable source. When I made the edit I fully explained the edit in the edit summary. However, even though you are an experienced editor you simply reverted me and stated that I did not explain my edit on the talk page. That was an inappropriate edit on your part and it may possibly not be in good faith, but I will still assume good faith on your part. I will assume that may be you did not see the comments in the edit summary or when you reviewed the edit you inadvertently did not review both the of the cited sources, i.e., the biased unreliable source or the reliable ABC News source. Please in the future, please fully review the whole edit instead of simply reverting because even though it might not have been your intention you placed a wholly unreliable and biased source back in the article, an unreliable source that not only is inappropriate to support a fact (which violates Wikipedia) but the source also acts as attack site of Republican politicians and specifically attacks Michelle Bachmann, which also violates the premise of BLP. Please be more careful next time.--Edmonton7838 (talk) 19:13, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
I apologize for reverting your edit. I have reviewed the reverts and yours was appropriate and valid. I believe what happened is that you were editing while an IP (anonymous) editor was blanking the page - which they had done a couple of times. I use Huggle to find and revert vandalism and there is sometimes a lag or the edits change quickly enough that sometimes a valid edit gets caught up. Unfortunately, that happened with your edit, I believe. The best I can say is that my practice is to never revert an authorized user that uses the edit summary - whether I agree with the edit or not. My feeling is that is for those interested in the page to sort out. Again, I apologize for the edit. I will remove the warning from your page. Thank you for your contributions! USA Census...

Something's bugging me... In the "2010 United States Census" it shows the District of Columbia is considered a state and is 50th on the leaderboard, but I thought that it was part of Washington and still considered a part of it, not legally considered a state...it's sorta confusing me because in history with my work it's talking about it now, but showing nothing about it being considered a separate state.

Could you explain it to me, or why it's being titled a state at least?
CLICK...if you dare! (talk) 15:33, 9 January 2012 (UTC)
I really couldn't tell you. Either a) the 'leaderboard' is mistitled and should be "State and District Rankings" or b) Wash DC shouldn't be on there. I can see arguments for both. It's a good question to put on the talk page for that article.Wikipelli Talk 17:51, 9 January 2012 (UTC)

Revert

I actually think this revert undid a punctuation change that was appropriate. The user's edits are inappropriate and I left a final warning to that effect, so I'm not saying there was no vandalism, but...I had left it alone because they seemed to have stopped and that last edit looked good. A revert in this case is no big deal; just commenting.  Frank  |  talk  15:53, 13 January 2012 (UTC)

A fair point. I think in this case I was kind of 'heavy-handed', assuming that an editor that put the "Kristen, Walter...are bored " personal message in the article couldn't have been doing anything correctly! Sometimes I guess it happens that they have good edits in with the bad. To be honest, I looked at the semi-colon vs. the colon for awhile and really couldn't decide which was proper so I deferred to the article's state before the vandalism. Thanks for the message! Wikipelli Talk 15:59, 13 January 2012 (UTC)
I've been watching for further edits, and at least for the moment, the warnings seem to have done the trick, so I think we're good. Again, no big deal...just a comment. Thanks!  Frank  |  talk  16:20, 13 January 2012 (UTC)

Update: new user warning test results available

Hi WP:UWTEST member, we wanted to share a quick update on the status of the project. Here's the skinny:

  1. We're happy to say we have a new round of testing results available! Since there are tests on several Wikipedias, we're collecting all results at the project page on Meta. We've also now got some help from Wikimedia Foundation data analyst Ryan Faulkner, and should have more test results in the coming weeks.

I was just wondering...

Why did you remove my edit on Kirby Right Back at Ya!?19:35, 23 January 2012

(talk page stalker) Because you didn't cite any sources. Calabe1992 20:05, 23 January 2012 (UTC)

I asked Wikipelli, not you. Who are you calling a talkpage stalker? Androzaniamy (talk) 17:38, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

Usually when {{tps}} is used, it is the person using it calling themselves a talk page stalker. Syrthiss (talk) 17:46, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

Then why did that user get angry when I gave them an award for it? How peculiar. Androzaniamy (talk) 18:51, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner myself, but Calabe is quite right. Your edit was uncited. Looking at the information you added, it's entirely possible that it wouldn't be challenged but you should always at least use the Edit Summary to explain your edit or put something on the article's talk page. Without the citation/reference or explanation of the edit, your edit looks very much like vandalism. Wikipelli Talk 17:51, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

Let's clear this up. It was not vandalism, it was a good faith edit that was made to improve the article, not ruin it. I thought it did not need a citation because if you watch the show you can see that Kirby loves watermelons and even says so on another article about him. By the way I did write something about it on the talk page. Androzaniamy (talk) 18:50, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

Let's do clear it up, Androzaniamy... I went back to your talk page to look at the warning I gave you after I reverted your edit. It quite clearly stated that "at least one of your recent edits,..... did not appear to be constructive, and has been reverted or removed". Saying that it "Did not appear to be constructive" is a long way from saying that you were trying to 'ruin' the page. The word 'vandalism' wasn't even used in the warning. Additionally, links were provided within my 'warning' to resources on editing Wikipedia.
I also checked the article's talk page. Your question about 'favorite food' was posted 2 days after I reverted your edit.
I don't mind being called on reverts that I make ... I sometimes make mistakes, and I'll own up to it. But your stance both here and on other pages that I've looked at seems to be very defensive and not at all in keeping with the collaborative nature of Wikipedia. I strongly suggest you take some time and read over the resources that you've been given and get more of a feel for how the project works. You will actually see editors 'stalking' talk pages, offering advice and guidance, and trying to be helpful whenever they can. It won't serve you well to become defensive and even antagonistic when others are attempting to guide you. You'll go a lot further asking questions rather than demanding answers. Just a word to the wise. Wikipelli Talk 19:32, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

I'm not sure I get your point. Could you please clarify what you are trying to say. And for the record, I am not getting "defensive and antagonistic" and I can take critisism when it is constructive. I don't know why people don't believe I read all the resourses given to me, I even do my own independent research as to why other users think of me as "disruptive" and so far I have nothing that supports their points. Androzaniamy (talk) 20:09, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

No, I really can't clarify. I believe that what I've said is completely clear. Understand, too, that I wrote that it "seems" that you are defensive and antagonistic. My opinion. You disagree. That's fine. Perhaps I'm only trying to let you know how others might perceive you. My advice stands, though, I really do think (in my opinion) that you should do a lot less talking right now and a lot more observing and contributing to articles. Wikipelli Talk 20:15, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

Calling someone else "defensive and antagonistic" is a personal attack. Please refrain from doing it again as you can severely insult people and make them feel upset as you did to me. Good day. Androzaniamy (talk) 18:21, 26 January 2012 (UTC)

I completely respect your decision. Eagles 24/7 (C) 19:29, 26 January 2012 (UTC)

Me too. Androzaniamy (talk) 23:13, 26 January 2012 (UTC)

You still haven't made it clear

Am I allowed to add that Kirby's favourite food is watermelon or not? Androzaniamy (talk) 12:29, 28 January 2012 (UTC)

It's not for me to 'allow' anyone to edit or not. As I stated earlier, I reverted it because it appeared to be vandalism because there was no explanation given for the edit - either on the talk page or on the edit summary. If you're asking me if I will revert it again if you add it, the answer is no. I won't. Wikipelli Talk 12:44, 28 January 2012 (UTC)

Thank you! Androzaniamy (talk) 15:06, 28 January 2012 (UTC)

LOL... Trigger finger got stuck? No problems here, I just yesterday managed to do it on an ANI page. Ugh. --Tgeairn (talk) 20:11, 30 January 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for being understanding! I usually go back to the actual pages to undo my bad reverts but I've started using the undo in Huggle. I go to click on one of my edits in the list and, as I'm clicking, the list changes. Embarrassing! Have a good one! Wikipelli Talk 20:13, 30 January 2012 (UTC)

Notice of discussion at the Administrators' Noticeboard

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. Eagles 24/7 (C) 19:13, 3 February 2012 (UTC)

A few changes

To all users who think I'm trouble,

I have been thinking carefully and have come to a final conclusion as to why some other users seem to absolutely hate me and everything I do. These are a list of things I will try to do when I edit Wikipedia. From now on I will:

Not trust Wikipedia when I use it for my own purposes.

Continue editing it for as long as I shall live!

Ignore rude messages to me and report them.

Ignore users that call me names.

Continue fighting vandalism.

Accept all help whether I need it or not.

Ask for help from users that are helpful and polite.

Give help to users who ask for it.

Spend more time on editing Wikipedia instead of trying to persuade others that I don't mean to be mean.

Not give thank you messages to users who do not recieve them well.

Never edit another user's user page.

Continue being polite and competent.

I have sent you this because I think you might benefit from reading it. Androzaniamy (talk) 12:21, 5 February 2012 (UTC)

Re:

I just saw this so I thought I'd do you a favor as a fellow wiki(pedia|a)n: this is a public school. I believe you have some policies reguarding libraries and the like.--209.129.228.26 (talk) 20:34, 7 February 2012 (UTC)

I'm not too sure what you mean. I assume you mean the warnings that I left on your talk page about vandalism. The edits that I reverted certainly were vandalism. The policies that I was following are against malicious editing no matter what the source. Can you clarify what you mean about the policies regarding libraries and public schools? Wikipelli Talk 21:02, 7 February 2012 (UTC)

3RR

Hello, this is just a reminder that you are almost in breach of the 3 Revert Rule on Woodford Wells. One more revert in the next 24 hours means that you have broken the rule and action will have to be taken. Enjoy editing! Androzaniamy (talk) 16:07, 11 February 2012 (UTC)

Please do not issue warnings until you learn more about what you are doing on Wikipedia. If you check the article's history, you'll see that I made only 1 revert on the page and my revert was to take off vandalism and thus and exception to the 3 revert rule anyway. Wikipelli Talk 16:38, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
If I may butt in, I don't think that edit was vandalism, rather an editing test; however, the warning was definitely unwarranted. Salvio Let's talk about it!16:50, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
I'll concede that, but it was only the one revert. Wikipelli Talk 16:52, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
I meant Androzaniamy's warning; sigh, sorry for being unclear. Salvio Let's talk about it! 17:00, 11 February 2012 (UTC)
I knew (or hoped!) that was what you meant. I was conceding that vandalism (volume 20000000000000?) or edit test. Could go either way. I'd assume good faith and call it a test. :) Wikipelli Talk 17:04, 11 February 2012 (UTC)

You might be right

You might be right. Andro has given herself away here, by adding a welcome message which (as shown here) had apparently been copied from [3]. ClaretAsh 23:18, 12 February 2012 (UTC)

I know. I watched it this morning and was just about to issue a warning when she corrected herself and changed the links. So I let it go. I don't know what to add to all the discussions. I think, as others have said, it's time to just cut her loose and let her make edits. If they're wrong, she'll get warnings and there'll be blocks... or, she might 'get it'. I just don't know.... I'm watching, though.... Wikipelli Talk 23:28, 12 February 2012 (UTC)
I agree. To be frank, I don't know how all this babysitting began. Any other user talk page would have had a welcome message and a handful of miscellaneous warnings by now. But, anyway, moving on... ClaretAsh 00:30, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
It is quite strange :) Her perceived age, perhaps? I don't know. But I do know there's a lot more effort going into this than I've seen with other 'problem' editors. All part of a study that I'll do one day when I'm retired! :) Wikipelli Talk 02:41, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
Good luck with that. :) ClaretAsh 10:40, 13 February 2012 (UTC)

William S. Sadler

Hi Wikipelli, hope things have gone well with you since we last talked. I've been working on improving theWilliam S. Sadler page lately and it brought the background of the Spirit Fruit Society to mind--Sadler also worked at the Battle Creek Sanitarium and was mentored by John Kellogg. I was pretty surprised when I noticed that coincidence. If you're interested/have time, I'd greatly appreciate if you could read over it and give me any feedback/suggestions/copyediting that comes to mind. I find Sadler to be a very fascinating person, hope you agree. Mark Arsten (talk) 05:35, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

Happy to! All the more so because we share a birthday! Wikipelli Talk 11:42, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
Hi Mark.... I finally got some quiet, free time to get into the Sadler article. It's terrific! I'm glad you shared it with me. I can't help but think that Sadler had to have crossed paths with the Spirit Fruit Society and/or Beilhart at some point. I'll check my sources again to see if there's a mention.
In terms of critiquing the article, I see that, since your request, the article has been passed to GA (Well done!). I really didn't see anything glaring that I would change. My gut tells me that the lede might be a little long and involved and you use notes a little differently than I do, but it's great.. I enjoyed the read! Cheers! Wikipelli Talk 18:27, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
I was huggling last night and you beat me to the punch a few times, you are fast with that. RE:Sadler, thanks, it was a pretty fun article to write. I was actually wondering if he ever met Beilhart myself, would be interesting to find out. The GA reviewer mentioned that there was some "clunky bits of prose" in "the last paragraph of the lead and the first of the section on Urantia revelation." I think it came out well overall, though. Mark Arsten (talk) 19:10, 29 February 2012 (UTC)

Re: That reverted edit

I actually am the user in question and would just rather prefer if I didn't have old messages lurking around on a disused account. Security on the internet and all that.--128.233.224.53 (talk) 18:10, 28 February 2012 (UTC)

That's entirely understandable, but understand, too, that we have no way of knowing if you are that user. You should, if possible, log in as that user if you want to blank the messages. There are ways of recovering your login details if you've forgotten them. I'll leave it blank for now as there is really nothing there, but be aware that another editor may (rightly) come along and replace the messages. Wikipelli Talk 18:16, 28 February 2012 (UTC)
This is a good point. I'll do that. Thanks!--128.233.224.53(talk) 19:04, 28 February 2012 (UTC)

It says I'm in an edit war I got a warning from you

Well, I didn't put a warning on that page for edit warring (though another editor did). My warning was for a bit of vandalism or unconstructive editing. The IP address might be shared so someone else might have done the warring and editing. At any rate, it was over a year ago so I think you're ok. :) Cheers! A simple question~

Is it allowed to add the lyrics to a song article? Click...If you dare! o,0` (talk) 13:59, 29 February 2012 (UTC)

Simple question, but I'm afraid that the answer isn't simple. :) If you look at this page, you'll see that it depends on the song. In general, lyrics are copyrighted works and including them (for the whole song) would be a violation. If a song is old (copyright expired) or the lyrics are licensed in such a way as to permit copying, then you're ok to include them. Short answer, I wouldn't include lyrics to any modern song... You can include parts of the lyrics, but not all of the lyrics. Read over the page that I've linked above and take a look at the example pages that they have there. Let me know if I can help more!Wikipelli Talk 14:25, 29 February 2012 (UTC)

Remark

Hey,

Is it correct you send me a message regarding an edit of the page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don_Diablo?diff=452515394)? Are you sure that that had been changed from my account? This because I had never seen that article before and I just received your message (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:131.211.234.34&diff=cur) now. New Page Triage engagement strategy released

Hey guys!

I'm dropping you a note because you filled out the New Page Patrol survey, and indicated you'd be interested in being contacted about follow-up work. This is to notify you that we've finally released both theinitial documentation about the project and also the engagement strategy, which sets out how we plan to work with the community on this. Please give both a read, and leave any comments or suggestions you have on the talkpage, on my talkpage, or in my inbox - okeyes@wikimedia.org.

It's awesome to finally get to start work on this! :). Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 02:26, 3 March 2012 (UTC)

Good Articles

Hey ! I want to know when does an article become a 'good' or a 'featured' article. What are the conditions needed to make an article good or featured?? Animalprani (talk) 14:32, 4 March 2012 (UTC)

Hi Animalprani! In general, you can nominate any article for 'good' or 'featured' article status. Before doing so, you want to be sure that the article meets the criteria for the status. Any editor can review and pass an article to "good article" status. The process for Featured Article status is a bit more rigorous because attaining Featured Article status means that the article is of the very best quality. You can find out more about Good Articles here, and Featured Articles here. Cheers!Wikipelli Talk 14:38, 4 March 2012 (UTC)

Always fun to learn something new

Hello W. I saw your followup on today's new editors change on the Lovejoy novels article. First off thank for taking the time to do that. I just had to take a moment to let you know that I had known the "picaresque novel" term for years but had never heard of a "cozy mystery"! After reading its article I can say that both terms might apply to that delightful set of books. Lovejoy is certainly a rogue but, IMO, the sex and violence aren't treated as humorously (and they certainly aren't downplayed in the books) as in the TV series making "cozy mystery" slightly dodgy. We will see if the editor replies and go from there. I hope that you had as much fun learning from this as I did. Thanks for your time and have a good week on wiki and off.MarnetteD | Talk 22:18, 4 March 2012 (UTC)

I'm purely non-fiction, myself! When I looked at the edit the first time, my reaction was that someone had spelled picturesque wrong!  :) Then I clicked on the link and learned both terms! So, that's a good day in my book. I saw that the editor was discouraged after the revert and wanted to offer a little encouragement. Thanks for the comment and you have a great week, too! I Apologize

Hi and thanks for your reply, firstly I would like to apologize for using profanity on my last message, I was angry, tired and upset at the time, I sincerely apologize. Secondly, in regards to the Wiki page concerning the MACC, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, it is now flagged with a message that it is under investigation for copyright infringement, which is in turn making me more stressed and upset, You see, I work for the MACC, media department, and responsible for all of its social media, online etc. I was assigned to edit the previous MACC Wikipedia page because it was outdated, and so there I was, editing the page, renewing it. I admit that all of the facts, articles that i put on the page was copy-pasted, that is true, however, the source which I copy-pasted those facts and articles are directly from the MACC website, http://www.sprm.gov.my, which is the organization I work at, and the sole source of all the facts and articles. I did however referenced the website on the Wiki page, but, the wikipedia still accuses me of copyright infringement, and demanded that I rewrite or rephrase the facts. So I did, but still Wikipedia detected that I was plagiarizing, I spent hours rephrasing and rewriting, but Wikipedia still gives me an error that I plagiarize, of course I was agitated. I would really appreciate it if you could help me with this problem, I have already explained my stand at the article discussion page, and submit the page for investigation, I am really hoping that you or anyone can help me with this, as this is part of my job, and I hope that this issue can be resolved as soon as possible.

Thanks for the help!

-Tikan — Preceding unsigned comment added by TikanKK (talkcontribs) 20:48, 6 March 2012 (UTC)

I believe what happened is that the page was created and deleted multiple times (despite warning that the group was not notable) and so an administrator creation protected the page. This was most likely done to prevent the same editor from creating the page again and again.
According to the page that I linked to above, you must contact an administrator to get permission to create the page again. My hope is that in the intervening years since it was last deleted, the band has gained more notoriety and that you'll be able to show that it is now notable or worthy of having a Wikipedia article.
My suggestion is that you create the article - complete with good 3rd party references - in your sandbox in order to demonstrate to an administrator that the article should now be created. Let me know if I can help! Wikipelli Talk 21:21, 6 March 2012 (UTC)

What a charming username!

Hi, whilst reading up on Androzaniamy's interactions with other users, I came to check your page to see if you were an admin, as the latest defender of the aforementioned user is proclaiming "Don't bite the newbies" and I am more of the opinion there should now be an article: "Newbies, don't bite the helping hands that are reaching out to you".
Well, amazing, I didn't know that Kokopelli was well known in the English-speaking world, here in France it is also the name of an heirloom seedbank association, I thought it was a deity of South American Indians when, in fact, he is venerated by the Hopi et al. CaptainScreebo Parley! 16:22, 8 March 2012 (UTC)

I think your article idea is perfect! I know when I first started editing a couple of years ago, I came with a lot more humility than I see in a lot of new users these days. Young or old, IAR or not, I think you join a community quietly and observe a bit before knocking things down! I have a sense that that is what is getting under people's skin with this editor. I really don't know what the best answer is.
Re: Kokopelli... It's fascinating to me to see that it's known outside the US! South America, perhaps, but I'm happy to see it in France. It's been an icon/avatar for me in just about all of my online presence. It just seemed natural to work it in to my Wikipedia name. Thanks for the note! Wikipelli Talk 17:42, 8 March 2012 (UTC)
(talk page stalker)I completely agree with your idea about a reverse "don't bite" essay Captain Screebo. Living in Colorado I too appreciate your username Wikipelli. Back in the 90's Kokopelli was almost overdone in Santa Fe and other cities of the southwest (certainly not your fault!) so I am glad that people can get back to learning about the deity and not the marketing icon. Cheers to you both. MarnetteD | Talk 19:57, 8 March 2012 (UTC)
I'm in Virginia and 'discovered' Kokopelli while attending a conference in either Phoenix or Albuquerque many years ago. I rather liked it (and agree, it was overdone!). I identified with the 'playful' 'trickster' 'musician' aspects, but still get asked why I use a fertility symbol on my emails! :) Wikipelli Talk 20:04, 8 March 2012 (UTC)
Well, hi Marnette, how wierd is that, I will reply to your post over at my TP. Hmm, the article suggestion was a bit of a joke but apparently could be useful with truculent or petulant users, as your comments seem to suggest. As for Kokopelli and trickster gods, I used to have a huge compendium of Native American folk stories, Coyote was one of my favourites, used to give us endless hours of mirth, this story had us in fits, although it was told in a more detailed way in the book. :-) CaptainScreebo Parley! 21:27, 8 March 2012 (UTC)

Hey guys!

Thanks to all of you who have commented on the New Page Triage talkpage. If you haven't had a chance yet, check it out; we're discussing some pretty interesting ideas, both from the Foundation and the community, and moving towards implementing quite a few of them :).

In addition, on Tuesday 13th March, we're holding an office hours session in #wikimedia-office on IRC at 19:00 UTC (11am Pacific time). If you can make it, please do; we'll have a lot of stuff to show you and talk about, including (hopefully) a timetable of when we're planning to do what. If you can't come, for whatever reason, let me know on my talkpage and I'm happy to send you the logs so you can get an idea of what happened :). Licensing.

Dear Wikipelli, I have applied the licenses required for documenting my organizations Wikipage, the Creative Commons License and GNU Free Documentation License, but I am a little confuse as to how I am supposed to license the documents, I followed the instructions like they stated, copying the licenses, and pasting them in the documents, however, I not sure whether I did it correctly, I pasted the licenses at the bottom of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Wikipage, in edit form, and when I click show preview, there was nothing. And I also noticed that there were no particular changes made to the blocked MACC Wikipage, I have also explained my intentions to licensing the page at the articles talk page, You can check it out at the talk page, and next, I have to "To confirm your permission, you can either display a notice to this effect at the site of original publication or send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en at wikimedia dot org or a postal letter to the Wikimedia Foundation. These messages must explicitly permit use under CC-BY-SA and the GFDL. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials." this is the part that I am confused the most. What does this statement really means?? Do I copy and paste the licenses at the blocked page, if so, I have already done that, like I've said above, or do I email the Wikipedia the copy of the whole documents with the added licenses?

Please help me if it is not too much trouble. Kery sprm (talk) 02:14, 9 March 2012 (UTC)
