Bania caste

If there is something contentious in the recently added content, remove it manually or better discuss with the user who added it in the talk page. Restoring to an old version like this is never a good idea, when maintenance work has been done in between, that have affected other parts of the article (non-contentious ones). I hope you understand - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 09:56, 19 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for contacting, totally understand your concerns, will remove the dubious info as well as include/overlap the non-contentious edits that happened in the later edits. Wikigeek365 (talk) 10:07, 19 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The source you added [1] mentions Dasa Shrimali Jain sect as Vikram Sarabhai's background, not Bania. We would need explicit mention in an RS, otherwise it is WP:OR, and might get removed in the future. Could you a better source, that explicitly mentions Bania? Thanks. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:34, 19 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Jains mostly belong to the Oswal, Porwal, Shrimal, Agrawal, Khandelwal castes, The Shrimali caste just like many other bania castes have Dasa(ten) and Bisa(twenty) sects, refer to the last paragraph of this webpage- http://indpaedia.com/ind/index.php/Bania:_Srimali,. Mostly all trading castes that have their origin in Rajasthan are referred to as Baniya including the Srimals (source- Alchemies of Violence: Myths of Identity and the Life of Trade in Western India, page 9). or you can refer to the religion section of this article https://www.encyclopedia.com/humanities/encyclopedias-almanacs-transcripts-and-maps/banias, I am thinking of adding either indpaedia article or Alchemies of Violence pg 9 as additional source. Since it become clear from the source [2] that he is a shrimali caste jain and from above mentioned sources that shrimal caste is included in the bania category, I stand corrected and we will need to add 2 sources.
