Speedy deletion nomination of Positron (software)

Hello Wikieditorfp,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Positron (software) for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Hi, I replied on the "contest" link. This software is a successor to an older and very popular software, made by the same company, and it was only released 2 days ago. In the coming days and weeks it will definitely be filled with a lot more information from the data science community. I only created a stub for it because it's brand new and didn't have a page yet. Hi, if it was only released 2 days ago, it would be best to wait a while longer, until it has attracted more press coverage. ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 22:53, 29 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It may not have a lot of "press coverage" but it is being talked a lot about in social media. For example, on hackernews the discussion aobut this received more comments than almost any other topic that day. This is a page that will definitely exist very soon even if you delete it because it will gain popularity quickly, and it must begin from scratch at some point - I fail to see why that point cannot be now. The amount of chatter on social media is generally irrelevant to determining whether something deserves an article. As Wikipedia is based on reliable sources, we need to wait until those sources start publishing articles that we can use as citations. We cannot base an article off social media posts. Instead of creating an article, you could create a draft instead. Please see Wikipedia:Too soon for more information. ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 23:18, 29 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It would have been fine converting this to a draft if it simply needs more details. But now that it's been deleted, I'm not going to put in the energy again to re-create it. It's very demotivating for new editors to have their content deleted aggressively in this way and will make it much less likely for me to want to try to create new pages in the future. If you still want to work on it, you can contact the deleting administrator, Pickersgill-Cunliffe, to see if they are willing to restore it as a draft. ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 00:25, 30 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Donald Albury. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Unmanned aerial vehicle, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Donald Albury 23:07, 29 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I added it back with two sources Wikieditorfp (talk) 01:18, 30 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
