off-wiki canvasing

I noticed a recent posting to HSG that could be interpreted as canvassing, or attemtping to solicit support for your edits to an article. If you did not make this post to HSG then I sincerely apologize. If you did, then I would like to ask you to review WP 's policy on off-wiki canvassing.
