Hi Virtualr84. welcome to Wikipedia. Thanks for writing the Calder Park Raceway article, and thanks for being pleased rather than upset about my rather significant edits to it. Do you compete, work as an official, or spectate there? Are you able to get a Thunderdome photo? Unfortunately, I guess it will be empty :-( --Scott Davis Talk 11:42, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Scott, I have only spectated there however have not been to an event there since the drift nationals in 2004. Before then I was regularly at most events held there including Nascar back in the 90s. Unfortunately I don't think I have taken any photos from the ThunderDome, only the main circuit events including ANDRA Drag Racing Nationals, Various V8 Supercar Events, Street Drag Nights and Drift Nationals. I will try to find some old photo albums and see if I can find anything from the dome.
I do however have a map of the entire circuits layout which I could scan and use. The map was given out at most big events back in the mid - late 90s however contains no Copyright information on the sheet, whether it is actually able to be reproduced I am not sure. I have not seen this map given out at any events since 1998. If you would like me to scan it and upload I can do so, if you could suggest what type of license to upload under that would be great. Alternatively I could create a proper scaled map of the circuit and thunderdome in photoshop.
Thanks Scott,
Roy.

In Australia, a work is copyright whether or not it identifies who created it on the item. This includes the artwork in the map you have. I am not a copyright lawyer, but it appears to be acceptable for you to create a new map in Photoshop while looking at the paper map you have. This is like reading the program and results then writing your own words about the race meeting.
I went to two race meetings at the Thunderdome, but I don't think I have any suitable photos either - we didn't know we'd need them for Wikipedia then! --Scott Davis Talk 14:54, 15 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah I didn't expect them to close the Thunderdome back then either, came as a shock when they closed it and the entire place lost their insurance and race rights. Now the place is a long way from what it used to be, was a really good motorsport complex back in its day shame to see only a few small events held there now.

image permission

I replied in detail on my talk page, but I think you'll need to contact her and ask for more permission. Thanks for going to the effort of getting the photos. Thanks too for reading the note at the top of my talk page and providing a link for me to follow :-) --Scott Davis Talk 13:40, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Photo of Calder Park Thunderdome NOT from 1997

Hi. I noticed you posted a photo of Thunderdome stating it was taken in March 1997. This is not possible, because a VT Commodore can be seen in the photo. The VT was not released until much later in 1997 - August or September, I believe. Davez621 12:13, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi mate, sorry it must have been from the year after, It was many years ago so I cant remember exactly. I would have only been around 14 years old at the time I took these photos. I will edit the title to reflect the correct year.
