Conflict of interest at Somers, Wisconsin

Information icon Hello, VilSomersJNelson. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Somers, Wisconsin, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. 32.218.152.103 (talk) 20:24, 10 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I am paid by the Village of Somers to manage their website and communications. We noticed several errors and incomplete information on the Wikipedia page for https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Somers,_Wisconsin. I have been asked to update information to reflect more of what the website posts on http://somers.org/. There is also an incorrect source #6 that link a political news report. I need advise on how to make changes within your guidelines.
Thank you.
Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not the village's webpage. Please read the blue links in the above warning about paid editing and conflicts of interest and abide by Wikipedia's policies on the matter. 32.218.152.103 (talk) 22:04, 10 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Somers, Wisconsin webpage

Somers, Wisconsin has a webpage: Somers Town and Village. It is confusing that the Somers, Wisconsin article is the municipal page and Somers, Wisconsin has a website. Please clarified this; thank you-RFD (talk) 20:41, 10 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The village was recently incorporated from the town. It still shares a website with the (now) tiny town. 32.218.152.103 (talk) 22:06, 10 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

off topic reference

Reference #6 is an off topic newspaper article which focuses on a personal attack. I believe it is appropriate to remove the reference. Thank you for reviewing. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Somers,_Wisconsin --VilSomersJNelson (talk) 12:31, 11 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
