Speedy deletion of Deacom Inc.

Not in agreement with this assessment. Please review "BatchMaster" and "Consona" Wiki articles for comparison. Based on a comparison of like-Wiki articles, how are those articles any different from this Deaccom article? Please advise.Vdc ent (talk) 15:08, 2 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article was posted by a neutral party.Vdc ent (talk) 15:08, 2 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Deacom Inc., requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Ros0709 (talk) 22:35, 1 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hangon tag

Hi Vdc ent. The template above where you are placing the {{hangon}} tag is just a notice to inform you that someone tagged the page you created for speedy deletion. If a hangon tag was going to be used, it would be placed at the top of the article, not here. In any event, an administrator already reviewed the deletion and declined to delete, so even though you placed the hangon tag in the wrong place (here), it is now is a moot issue—the article is no longer tagged for speedy deletion. Cheers.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 15:16, 2 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Fuhghettaboutit. Thanks for clarifying... am obviously trying to figure all this out as I go... Thanks again.Vdc ent (talk) 15:46, 2 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sure. Wikipedia is vast and can be very confusing.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 15:59, 2 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deacom

Stop adding Deacom to the list of ERP software packages. Deacom's package isn't notable enough for inclusion in that article, which is why I have reverted your edits time and again. Readdition of the link will constitute vandalism. Themfromspace (talk) 05:14, 25 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Themfromspace, ok - no problem. I was just trying to add from the resources used in the wiki post. Did this cause the entire Wiki to be deleted? That was a bit drastic... all you had to do was let me know sooner. Please advise and thanks.Vdc ent (talk) 17:07, 1 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just a friendly note on Deacom Inc.. If you have something to say to another editor, the best place to do it is on their talk page, not the article space.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 17:47, 1 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Please stop making comments on articles in the main space. If you have a question for the admin who originally deleted the article, please leave them a message at User talk:Stifle.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 15:01, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry Fabrictramp.. I am still trying to figure out the Wiki "feedback" protocol. It's certainly not straight forward or easy. Have mercy on the newbies. Thank you. Vdc ent (talk) 15:53, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Deacom Inc.

I wish to challenge this deletion - as I have done so in the past. Please review my talk page for previous "speedy deletion" lift.

  • There is no rational reason for this deletion based on other company stub articles in the same genre. Review BatchMaster and Consona - the Deacom Inc. company stub article was modeled identically from the BatchMaster and Consona company stub articles. Not to mention that the speedy deletion was lifted (review my talk page) back at the beg. of Nov. I so much disagree with this deletion and am asking for reconsideration. Thank you in advance for reconsidering.

And forgive my being a newbie on Wikipedia and not knowing where the heck to post my responses... it's certainly not clear or easy. Thanks. Vdc ent (talk) 16:04, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deacom Inc. was deleted under criterion 7 (under Articles) of our criteria for speedy deletion because it appeared to be an article about a company which didn't indicate why it was important or significant. Please see WP:CORP for details of what might show notability. If you think that these criteria are met, please explain which one and provide citations from reliable sources to back up your claim, and I will consider undeleting it.
You may alternatively file a deletion review request.
I note that an administrator chose not to delete the article earlier in November. This was because the article was requested for deletion on the basis of being an advertisement, but Cunard chose not to delete it on that basis. That does not remove the possibility of the article being deleted for other reasons.
If you feel that other articles should not be included in Wikipedia, you are welcome to recommend their deletion using the deletion process.
