- Thanks ; you're right about germanic kingdoms in front of celtic ones. French for german is Allemand, whereas French for medieval germanic is germanique. We tend to use "Anglo-Saxon kingdoms" for Heptarchy and "Frankish ones" for Franks, loosing the root idea which is : both come from germanic culture (Germania, as located by the Romans). 14:55, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

That looks to be an interesting project. I may be interesting in helping. For now, why the inclusion of stuff past the end of the period in the title??? It seems to be written as the whole middle ages. ttfn // FrankB 21:47, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
- That's right and claims a rightfull explanation. Hence : at the beginning of French wikiproject "Early Middle Ages", hardly nobody agreed to the various end dates of the period (beggining was clear : fall of Rome in 476, including (or not) the 100 years of barbarian invasions that led to it.) So I started to explain how things were changing through maps. (in French) It's here in an archive.
==> The current Commons page is the extent of the previous talk. To show how Europe evolves remains a topical subject, so though I focus on Early Middle Ages 476-1000, the other periods are worth to be displayed as a contrast.
As a consequence, the title may be wrong, but I designed the page as a helping tool from a historical perpective, that may be handy in Wikipedia articles.
I copied the question/answer in the Commons Talk page.
So, how we can deal : once known the reasons, I'm happy to contribute to enhance the current page, make it clearer due to its title, should the new version not break my purposes (as explained above.) Do you know folks in WP:EN that focus on the same historical period (say : Western Empire's fate, 476-1000AD, roughly) ?
