Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Request reason:

My intention is not to promote the Town of Bluffton but I am attempting to start a project similar to Monmouthpedia and I am trying to add some of the notable historic content related to the Town to wikipedia. I feel I've done this in a pretty neutral way so far. I know there's only one source for the historic buildings I've added recently, I am working to acquire additional unbiased source material, as this is not a topic that has much historic writing available online.
