Attribution for opinions

General opinions about bikes like the Ducati Desmosedici and Suzuki GSX-RR are fine but only if you can cite a reliable source, and include in-text attribution naming which recognized expert you're getting these opinions from. If a bike is "widely seen" as the most and the best, then that means it ought to be easy to name many such sources. That's what "widely seen" means. Aside from opinions, focusing on facts is even more appropriate for an encyclopedia, as explained at MOS:PUFFERY. --Dennis Bratland (talk) 19:13, 25 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Writing personal commentary on 2021 racing season

Echoing the advice in the section above, please don't editorialise your own thoughts at Fabio Quartararo when the season has just begun by creating a new section and content. Encyclopedia content should only be based on published accounts and these should be cited. WP:COMMENTARY, WP:EDITORIAL and Help:Referencing for beginners will give guidance. Thank you.--Rocknrollmancer (talk) 01:54, 6 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Again, you are writing-in your own personal commentary without the necessary accreditation at Fabio Quartararo#2021. You have been given guidance that you are ignoring. Please stop adding your own commentary and find independent sources. You got the commentary wrong as he didn't lead from the start.--Rocknrollmancer (talk) 21:25, 19 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for April 10

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Joan Mir, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Jack Miller. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 05:56, 10 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please use edit summaries

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to Fabio Quartararo does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! --Rocknrollmancer (talk) 01:18, 20 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

May 2021

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at John Hopkins (motorcyclist), without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Also at Francesco Bagnaia.--Rocknrollmancer (talk) 22:59, 8 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

July 2021

Information icon Hello, I'm Engr. Smitty. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Toprak Razgatlıoğlu, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Engr. Smitty Werben 14:25, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Mil Mi-24, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Also please stop removing valid cite needed tags. -Fnlayson (talk) 14:53, 28 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

August 2021

Information icon Please do not introduce incorrect information into articles, as you did to 2022 IndyCar Series. Your edits could be interpreted as vandalism and have been reverted. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again. If you would like to experiment, use your sandbox. At no point in your cited article does Hunter-Reay say he is retiring. You have repeatedly added this false information to the article. Please stop. IndyCar teams table

If the team has not acknowledged a signing, do not add it to the table. Your edits have been, once again, reverted. GhostOfDanGurney (talk) 12:29, 14 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please always use edit summaries

Information icon Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! 208.103.240.156 (talk) 13:43, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please ENGAGE.

Hi. I'd like to point out to you that on Wikipedia, Communication is required. I've noticed that you have not made any edits to talkspace or usertalk space. You have multiple editors who have come to you about problems with your editing and you've made no indication that you've even read any of them. I see you make plenty of good edits and I'd hate to see an admin see this talk page after coming across an edit such as what you made at Carlin Motorsport and block you for it, or for someone to make a complaint at WP:ANI. I see you as a net-positive to the website, but please stop jumping the gun on rumours such as a potential Carlin/Juncos-Hollinger merger until a website such as RACER, IndyStar or Motorsport Network cover it. January 2024

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced or poorly sourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at T-90.
