Welcome

Hello, ThisUserNameIsAlrTaken and welcome to Wikipedia! It appears you are participating in a class project. If you haven't done so already, we encourage you to go through our training for students. Go through our online training for students

If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Please also read this helpful advice for students.

Before you create an article, make sure you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.

Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, and if your class doesn't already have one please tell your instructor about that. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}} on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know this article is a subject of an educational assignment and aid your communication with them.

We hope you like it here and encourage you to stay even after your assignment is finished! ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 01:42, 24 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Angel Sanchez Gas: A Pioneer in Abstract Expressionism. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Gelsen Gas. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Gelsen Gas. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. PalauanReich🗣️ 00:19, 4 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice that Angel Sanchez Gas: A Pioneer in Abstract Expressionism, a page that you created, has been tagged for deletion. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

Duplicate topic

Hi,

We already have an article on Gelsen Gas. As such, I have moved your work back to User:ThisUserNameIsAlrTaken/Gelsen Gas. You are welcome to improve the Gelsen Gas article by editing, but please do not create a separate article. -- Whpq (talk) 02:05, 4 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@ThisUserNameIsAlrTaken and Nstrathman: Like User:Whpq mentioned an article on Gelsen Gas already exists. Instead of creating a duplicate article, you need to make improvements to the existing Wikipedia article. If you need a refresher on how to do this, please review this training module. Before you do that, I have some feedback on your draft.
Inline citations: Your article has no inline citations, which makes it difficult for readers to verify factual statements in your article. **A place to start is to go over the content and make sure that a reliable source can support or back up each sentence that you have in the draft. So that if any reader wants to check if a sentence has accurate information, they can click on the inline citation and find that information in the cited source. This will help you see what text can remain and what text is fluff or original research, and can then be removed.
Reliable sources: Several of the reference links are broken, and/or not cited correctly. Keep in mind you need to have inline citations to reliable sources that are independent of the topic and have a reputation for fact checking. I recommend finding articles from news coverage or academic journals to support your text.
You may recall that the Evaluating articles training module discusses examples of what is a good source and what isn't. I recommend that you review those training slides as a refresher on this.
Please address the feedback and improve your contribution in your sandbox before adding to the existing article. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.Brianda (Wiki Ed) (talk) 23:57, 4 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
