Let's Talk!

Thanks for stopping in to talk. Please start any conversations about edits, style, sources, and Wikipedia content with me here. I look forward to our discussions.

May 2023

Those were nice edits from you on the James Madison page. It would be useful and nice to hear your support/oppose comments on the FAC review page currently taking place. The co-nominator Cmguy has been good at responding to the comments left by editors on that assessment page. Could you find some time to make some support/oppose comments on the FAC assessment page for Madison? ErnestKrause (talk) 15:58, 10 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@ErnestKrause, thank you, and I'd be happy to comment and also pitch in when helpful. Great work getting the page to "close to done" status as per yesterday's coordinator note. Thinkinink (talk) 01:18, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Minor linking thing

Hallo Thinkinink. Something I learned recently, it is generally preferred to use a redirect rather than used a piped link. Example [[hummingbird moth]] rather than [[Hemaris|hummingbird moth]] See:MOS:NOPIPE. The exception being if it goes to a disambiguation page rather than directly to an article, then use a pipe. 🌿MtBotany (talk) 20:17, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@MtBotany, thank you for sharing this info! I'd used the pipe because of the redirect, but this makes it clear I should change how I approach those. I very much appreciate your passing this along. Thinkinink (talk) 20:23, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. So it is one of the things I always mention because I did it wrong for about nine months of serious editing. I will be a long time cleaning up after myself. 🌿MtBotany (talk) 20:34, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:53, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
