This is the only warning you will receive about ownership of articles, which you showed at Eldred Lee. The next time you continue to disruptively edit Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. startTerminal (haha wow talk page) 00:40, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest editing

Information icon Hello, Thayer2017. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the article Eldred Lee, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:43, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Thayer2017. I've added the above template to your page based upon what you posted here. Although Wikipedia does not expressly prohibit conflict-of-interest (COI) editing, it does highly discourage it because it can lead to some serious problems if not done properly. If you are editing on behalf of Eldred Lee because he has concerns about the article, then the two of you should carefully read through Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide, Wikipedia:Ownership of content, Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#Law of unintended consequences, Wikipedia:An article about yourself isn't necessarily a good thing and Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons#Relationship between the subject, the article, and Wikipedia. That might seem like a lot to read, but understanding what types of editing is considered appropriate in such cases will (1) help you comply with relevant policies and guidelines and (2) help others help you and Mr. Lee resolve any issues with the article content. One important things that many new editors do not realize is that articles are written about, not for, subjects and that neither article creators nor article subjects have any type of final editorial control or ownershipright over article content. Every time you click the "Publish changes" button, you are agreeing to give up any such claim per wmf:Terms of Use. So, that's not something acceptable to you or Mr. Lee, then Wikipedia is probably not the right place for what you want to do. -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:56, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Eldred Lee requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
