Talk:Yahweh

I have requested extended confirmed protection for Yahweh and Talk:Yahweh. It may or may not be applied. General Ization Talk 23:10, 7 May 2018 (UTC)

@General Ization: Ok, thanks for letting me know. Tgeorgescu (talk) 23:12, 7 May 2018 (UTC)

Saint John the Theologian

Saint John the Theologian was died in Ephesus. It is written in the article and other sources. Aleksei m (talk) 20:20, 15 May 2018 (UTC)

According to WP:RNPOV, that's the traditional place of death, not the historical place of death. Tgeorgescu (talk) 21:15, 15 May 2018 (UTC)

Sockpuppetry

I know him actually, what he is doing is following me. BernardZ (talk) 10:49, 19 May 2018 (UTC)

Then I suggest that you should ask that he will be blocked. Tgeorgescu (talk) 10:55, 19 May 2018 (UTC)
Here Bernard is right, you should address the issues Tgeorgescu. There was a recent conference here

https://www.biblicalarchaeology.org/category/daily/biblical-topics/exodus/ and what you are doing is blocking the wikipedia readers from sharing the newest information on the subject. Macquaire (talk) 11:06, 19 May 2018 (UTC)

The Exodus

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on The Exodus. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.-- Toddy1 (talk) 12:35, 19 May 2018 (UTC)

Over-representation of Bart Ehrman

I have noticed that the opinions of Bart D. Ehrman are rather over-represented on English Wikipedia. I poked through page histories a little bit looking for COI editing, and found that you have contributed content citing his works quite frequently. I have no reason to believe you have a COI, and I greatly appreciate your contributions. Ehrman is often a fairly good source for summarizing the current state of critical New Testament scholarship. However, I worry that we are giving him undue weight as a scholar. I'm not advocating for any particular different view. Rather, I just think we're putting too much emphasis on this individual person. Obviously, you can use whatever sources you like, but I just offer this as my opinion. Daask (talk) 23:02, 19 May 2018 (UTC)

Well, Ehrman has a professed purpose of rendering the consensus view of Bible scholars for a laymen audience. That's why he is very useful in rendering such consensus view. He writes something as Bible scholarship 101. And of course, I have read many of his books and I can only quote from what I have read. Tgeorgescu (talk) 23:09, 19 May 2018 (UTC)
@Tgeorgescu: I was just surprised to see one name keep popping up in a field with so many scholars. Now that you mention it, I shouldn't be so surprised; it makes sense Ehrman's goals align well with Wikipedia's goals. I probably shouldn't have bothered you. Thank you for contributing high quality content to Wikipedia! Daask (talk) 13:57, 20 May 2018 (UTC)

Using article talk pages

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. I am glad to see that you are discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages such as Talk:Jesus are for discussion related to improving the article in specific ways based on reliable sources and the project policies and guidelines, not for general discussion about the topic or unrelated topics, or statements based on your thoughts or feelings. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. Thank you.

Please focus on actual content being proposed, and please restrain yourself from providing commentary based on how you feel. If you cannot focus and cannot restrain, then the community will restrain you. Thanks. Jytdog (talk) 19:16, 27 May 2018 (UTC)

@Jytdog: Not about apostles and not about seeing the resurrected Jesus are good explanations of what was wrong with my arguments. I just did not get it before you have explained it. Tgeorgescu (talk) 21:25, 27 May 2018 (UTC)
Thanks! Sorry to "template the regulars" but that page is suffering from too much soapboxing lately :) Jytdog (talk) 21:35, 27 May 2018 (UTC)
