Hi, I have now added image tags to the logo (GPC_Logo.jpg). Is this now all ok? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jlgclg (talkcontribs) 06:30, 21 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Please revert warnings tags next time you assume bad faith in error

Thank you for reverting your accusation on Dallas Police Association but you left a warning assuming bad faith in error on my talk page and did not revert. The Dallas Police Association, along with 3 other police unions, are racially segregated and I will add references and expand the article. Afronig (talk) 22:19, 15 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Page was recently deleted, check Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Noe Garcia. You may want to change the criteria for deletion or contact the admin who had deleted the article. Thanks OccultZone (TalkContributionsLog)

Troll

Dude, stop trolling. You've sent the same delete to me twice, despite the fact I explained why my article is not a duplication. Polyphyletic evolution I discuss is not biblical polygenism. Plenty of scholarly sources explain the difference. Paleoresearcher (talk) 17:52, 20 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You have virtually no contributions to this site: [1], just deleting content and "patrolling pages" when you're apparently not even an admin. Paleoresearcher (talk) 18:01, 20 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
It seems you just try to delete people's material and edits for a reaction. My stuff is archived anyway. [dead link] So you completely fail. Paleoresearcher (talk) 18:15, 20 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You're taking this personally. I have no vendetta against you. Please discuss the merits of your article based on the content as I have done. T.C.Haliburtontalk nerdy to me 18:19, 20 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

There are various ways of handling it, but it's not an obvious duplicate in the speedy deletion sense. DGG ( talk ) 19:33, 20 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

G'day Tchaliburton. Just a reminder that this article will fail GAN if the comments are not addressed within the seven day period. Regards, Peacemaker67 (crack... thump) 10:23, 27 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I'm aware, thanks. I've had some personal thing taking up my time this week. I hope to be able to work on this in the next day or two, but I might not be able to. T.C.Haliburtontalk nerdy to me 19:33, 27 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
No worries, real world always gets in the way. I tend to be pretty strict with the seven days period if nothing has been addressed, but if you are able to make a start, I'll give you some leeway. Regards, Peacemaker67 (crack... thump) 01:40, 28 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I have formally extended the on hold period to 7 January, but it will be failed on that day if the review comments are not addressed. Regards, Peacemaker67 (crack... thump) 00:59, 1 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Evolent Health

Am I allowed to rewrite the article and try uploading it again? Bda3853 (talk) 18:50, 7 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I don't recall why this was deleted, but yes, you can rewrite an article and submit it again. I suggest taking a look at H:GS to avoid making any of the same mistakes that got the previous article deleted. T.C.Haliburtontalk nerdy to me 22:29, 7 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

"Ghomeshi's lawyer has stated the he will be pleading not guilty to all the charges" - the sources say that. I don't like Ghomeshi and think he's guilty but we have a responsibility to say he denies the charges. Down Kitty (talk) 17:19, 8 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not removing that. In fact, I added that. I've only removed the false claim that he has plead not guilty. He has not entered a plea yet. That's an important fact to keep straight. T.C.Haliburtontalk nerdy to me 17:22, 8 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
In this instance you reverted an edit that said he intends to plead guilty, not that he pleaded guilty. Down Kitty (talk) 18:49, 8 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Also, it would have been more helpful had you simply corrected the previous edit that said he had already plead guilty rather than remove it entirely. Down Kitty (talk) 18:50, 8 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I rolled back a series of your edits that contained some correct and some incorrect information. Then I added the correct information back. It's all the same in the end. I'm not sure what your issue is at this point. T.C.Haliburtontalk nerdy to me 19:02, 8 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

An article that you created, Tony Horton (personal trainer), appears to be approximately the same as another article that Wikipedia editors recently established a consensus to delete, just one month before you created it again, per Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tony Horton (exercise instructor). Are you aware of that? Can you explain why you think the article should not be deleted? —BarrelProof (talk) 04:52, 6 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I wrote the first draft of this article after noticing the topic was missing. I didn't recreate a deleted article. I'm not sure why the other article was deleted but the topic meets the criteria for WP:GNG in my opinion. I don't know if there were other issues. Historic Buildings in Baddeck, Nova Scotia

As it stands, the article which you created, Historic Buildings in Baddeck, Nova Scotia should I think more properly be titled 'List of historic buildings in Baddeck, Nova Scotia'. If you have plans to expand it to perhaps talk more generally about the built heritage of the town, I will leave it be, otherwise I will move it. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Nathan O'Brien requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 01:25, 10 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The Plaque, Winnipeg - deletion

okay, all good, to be expected. You guys seem not to believe in user generated content, or user-determined "notabiity". That's fine. So be it. But I think there's an issue here and I'd like to protest but there is no "dispute this deletion" button where the page used to be, as you advised. I am working on an iPad and there are things that the interface seems not to support. That may be the problem. Please advise. thank you. RobLab (talk) 01:46, 24 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Frankie MacDonald

Hi! I'm wondering if "change.org" and "The Coast" are actually considered to be reliable sources. Neither has a track record/history of checking facts. Kind of like Harold Channer on the Reid Stowe article. Thoughts?   Aloha27  talk  00:29, 15 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Change.org certainly isn't a reliable source. The Coast is a small local publication, but it's writers have solid credentials and its journalism is well respected. T.C.Haliburtontalk nerdy to me 01:43, 15 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I would disagree that it is necessary to include in the article (not commenting on the merits of The Coast as a reliable source, although I do see the article as rather weak in particular for a BLP). Lots of people talk smack about MacDonald, and Day happens to be a higher profile person who did (and from what I have seen, it's pretty mild at that). Day's article was deleted a couple years ago, so we have a non-notable person who made a comment about a notable person. I don't think it is suitable (or necessary) to include in the later's article. I don't care enough to fight tooth and nail about it, but I am a firm believer that not every fart is notable, and this is just another one. --kelapstick(bainuu) 10:13, 15 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
^ That was one of the funniest articles I have ever read here. Well played! I have taken the liberty of toning down the entry about Day's comments. I believe only some readers construed them as offensive. Regards,   Aloha27  talk  12:31, 15 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

AS I said... NO other media outlet touched this tempest in a teapot. There was no actual interview by the reporter (Jacob Boon) of either Frankie or Cindy. There was an "update" where they (and I quote) "had apparently quashed their beef..." he had simply repeated what was tweeted, facebooked and put on change.org. There was no attempt at getting factual information from ANYONE and quoting an actual person was never attempted. IMO, this was gossip journalism at its finest. Clearly WP:FART and I have removed it again (re: BRD.) It is not up to me to say whether or not The Coast isn't a reputable publication. After working many years in the broadcast industry in Halifax, it isn't known to be. It is a fringe (free) tabloid/gossip publication and being a tabloid/gossip publication by wikipedia definition is NOT considered to be reputable. Regards,   Aloha27  talk  00:52, 26 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I spent some time going through it and found not much worth keeping. The images are up for speedy, much innuendo, accusations, poor refs. You are quite welcome to sort it out. I wash my hands of it. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 09:34, 20 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, good morning! I noticed a neutrality warning issued on this page, but there is no discussion as to why it is there. Perhaps it is just due to the fact the page is currently unfinished? I have no affiliation to any of the parties involved, but can appreciate that many others do have particular beliefs surrounding the Oland trial. The information that is being added to the article is being added around the framework of the existing article, and actual court documents are being reviewed for the construction of this Wikipedia page. Some of these court documents are not available online, but can be accessed publicly at the New Brunswick Provincial Court House in Saint John. As you know, this article is still under construction, and facts are being added to the page only as quickly as I am able to provide them. If you would like to help and add more factual information, perhaps in a way that adds the balance you are seeking, please feel free to do so. Again, I have no affiliation with either parties, and am only including the facts surrounding this case as revealed through trial. Thanks very much for the contributions thus far, J4ronow (talk) 12:02, 23 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to the African Destubathon

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:14, 6 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

New deal for page patrollers

Hi Tchaliburton,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

New 10,000 Challenge for Canada

Hi, Wikipedia:WikiProject Canada/The 10,000 Challenge is up and running based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge for the UK which has currently produced over 2300 article improvements and creations. If you'd like to see large scale quality improvements happening for Canada like The Africa Destubathon, which has produced over 1600 articles in 5 weeks, sign up on the page. The idea will be an ongoing national editathon/challenge for Canada but fuelled by a contest such as The North America Destubathon to really get articles on every province and subject mass improved. I would like some support from Canadian wikipedians here to get the Challenge off to a start with some articles to make doing a Destubathon worthwhile! The article Spyglass Hill, Rothesay has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Apparently a nondescript hill in a suburb of Saint John. No indication or evidence of notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Sphere Media moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to Sphere Media. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 15:18, 22 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

Information icon Hello, Tchaliburton. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. You have been creating articles about Sphere Media and at least one of their shows. Please comment on any COI that you have in this area, broadly construed 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 17:23, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I created an article about a show I like and when I went to link the production company, I saw that there was no page. I don't have any connection to either Paranormal Revenge of Sphere Media. I'm not sure why you would assume that I do. I've been editing Wikipedia for over a decade on a wide variety of topics that interest me. Thank you. Any editor at any time may receive questions like this. Your answer is clear. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 19:01, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Paranormal Revenge moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Paranormal Revenge, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Notice

The article Haunted Hospitals has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:NTV and WP:GNG

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
