Marienkirche Halle

Thank you for expanding this! I guess you know that the church is planned to appear in the DYK section on Christmas day. Do you want to make it a Did-you-know article? All it would need is inline citations. If yes, should it be bold in the existing nomination or do you want it nominated separately? One or the other should happen within the next three days. Musical regards, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:35, 12 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I went ahead and nominated it for Christmas, because then the hook can be longer. Let me know if you rather want to say something about the church, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:26, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Gerda, I did what I could yesterday and added to the article some interesting references. I am not sure if I want to add more to the architectural history of church; it is not my cup of tea and I rather leave it to someone else. I am not very interested in extra work in order to get a DYK. I just sliced my middle finger while cooking. Besides I have plenty of other interests, like Oper am Gänsemarkt, may you could take a look there also? Greetings from AmsterdamTaksen (talk) 12:21, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I feel sorry about your finger! Thank you for the church improvements, I saw what you did and nominated. Hopefully no more work will be needed. I briefly looked at the Gänsemarkt before you mentioned it and liked it, but I also have plenty of other interests. I started Christmas cantata, the other link in the hook. It's not counting DYKs that counts, it's interesting facts, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:36, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
As I hoped: no more work for you, approved, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:36, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for still improving, great details you come up with! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:58, 15 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Re: 1740 Batavia massacre`

Hi Taksen, as you seem to read Dutch would it be possible for you to add the information about the various stands taken by the two factions? It should be in Van Hoevell around page 460. Crisco 1492 (talk) 04:48, 23 December 2011 (UTC) ~:Hello Chrisco, I am Dutch and live in Amsterdam. Vermeulen is here in the library. I have to find out about Van Hoevell. I did not interfere in your work untill now, because I have not studied the subject, and was busy somewhere else. Comparing the Dutch and English lemma, I found some irregularities, which need to solved. It seems so me Vermeulen and the bad relation between the two cousins Valckenier and Van Imhoff is essential. Taksen (talk) 05:15, 23 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thanks. There is actually a link to Van Imhoff's write-up in the article (it is on Google books, and should be full view as it is PD). Thanks for help with the Dutch sources; I can deal with Indonesian and English sources without a problem, but Dutch... not so much. Crisco 1492 (talk) 05:18, 23 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Please don't forget to cite your additions; otherwise I'll have to revert the information you've added as the Setiono reference does not support it. Crisco 1492 (talk) 07:01, 23 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Marktkirche Unser Lieben Frauen

I am very impressed how this article developed. What do you think of nominating it as Good Article. I just watched one pass and think this is good,

Hello there, go ahead. I don't know how to do it. There is plenty of interesting information, and it may attract a few more readers.Taksen (talk) 20:08, 1 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I thought you would do that. (I never did.) - Too bad that we will not know how many readers it attracted on Christmas Day, but it looked very impressive! Did I tell you that we had a snack on the Christmas market there under the statue of Handel, spelled "Haendel"? Church closed, too late, but we walked around it, found Jonas mentioned on a plaque. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:36, 1 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A detail: disambiguate Gulden. I have no idea how the Reichsgulden would be termed "en" nor what it was worth. - Please don't hide too much, we can always do it later if requested, so far we can try to find sources. I agree though that the Christmas market events don't belong in the history section. - Personal note: no, we only passed Halle on our way from Berlin and didn't visit more than mentioned. I will try to keep the article's talk interesting to the general reader of the church article, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:34, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I will remove this article from my watchlist. You can do whatever you like. For me the work is done. I never intended to make a copy of the German article.Taksen (talk) 16:23, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

For me the work is done as well, thank you for the informative sections you created, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:50, 2 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

St Matthew Passion in the Netherlands

The articles on conductor Johan van der Meer (also de-WP) and tenor Marius van Altena rely heavily on Dutch sources such as this, p 18 in display (16 in toc). If you have a moment, would you please check if what the articles claim is said in the sources, and add if you find more info worth mentioning, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:25, 9 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Gerda, Im not intested in writing on people from the 19th or 20th century. You may try him nl:Gebruiker:Floxoip, but if I find another name I will add here: nl:Gebruiker:Tjako. Taksen (talk) 10:56, 9 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your response, I don't want you to write. Just a look to verify that what the source says about the first performance of the St Matthew Passion is what's in the article would be helpful. I will follow your suggestions, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:07, 9 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Coucou !

Coucou ! Encore actif sur wikipedia en français?... J'aurais un tout petit service à demander... juste une ligne à traduire in het nederlands pour le wikipedia in het nederlands... --Rflock (d) 14 avril 2012 à 16:59 (CEST) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.180.167.228 (talk) 15:09, 14 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It's a good start--now please at least add the references from the French article. DGG ( talk ) 21:33, 10 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Oper am Gänsemarkt

You know ... that Venetian architect Girolamo Sartorio, the brother of composer Antonio Sartorio, designed the first German public opera house, the Oper am Gänsemarkt in Hamburg, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:32, 18 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Christina, Queen of Sweden

Hi mate. Thought I should let you know (though you will probably notice) I've made some changes to the above article. In most instances I have hidden content - a number of references (or material that relies on those references) which are fairly questionable or would normally be considered unreliable. I can see you've done a fair bit of work to clean different sections up so I thought it might be worth trying to tackle it together. Rather than delete content, I've hidden various sections (and cleaned them up while I was at it) so that they can be reinstated but I really don't think the content should be reinstated until the references are fixed up. Have added some content to the talk page - am happy to work through it there. Cheers, Stalwart111 (talk) 05:01, 22 August 2012 (UTC).[reply]

You are one of a handful of editors who has made at least 25 edits to George Frideric Handel. I am not a musical scholar or student and was hoping you might be able to help me organize {{George Frideric Handel}}.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 04:42, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
