Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Sacnilk source or any news media (such as Hindustan Times and Indian Express) publishing claims made by the film's makers and its production company are unreliable. Source needs to be secondary independent. Please familiarise yourself with the reliable list of sources Wikipedia:WikiProject_Film/Indian_cinema_task_force#Generally_used_sources that has Pinkvilla and BoxofficeIndia as reliable sources. RangersRus (talk) 11:47, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@RangersRusI have gone thorough the list. For south Indian movies, Pinkvilla & BOI were never really reliable. I get your point and will avoid unreliable sources. Also in several talk pages, this discussion has already been done about under reporting of South Indian B.O numbers. BOI & Pinkvilla cannot track single screen b.o numbers in South accurately like they do with north Indian national chains. Trackers from South India like Ramesh bala are the only ones who get single screen estimates correctly from south. Swarleystinson88 (talk) 12:10, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
May I ask where this discussion took place "For south Indian movies, Pinkvilla & BOI were never really reliable."? The source like Pinkvilla is reliable per WP:ICTFSOURCES for all Indian films. If you disagree, please discuss the concern on the WP:ICTFSOURCES talk page and many experienced editors who formed the reliable list on that page will give you guidance. RangersRus (talk) 12:17, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@RangersRusThe discussion took place in talk talk page in recent times. The discussion about "Pinkvilla & BOI" not being reliable for South Indian movies takes place often in south Indian movie talk pages. Recently, south Indian movies like Leo (2023 Indian film) & Jailer (2023 Tamil film) talk pages also discussed about this under reporting. Swarleystinson88 (talk) 13:21, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at List of Indian films of 2024, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. The Herald (Benison) (talk) 12:54, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@The HeraldIs this article reliable? https://variety.com/2024/film/news/kalki-2898-ad-inside-out-2-a-quiet-place-day-one-international-box-office-1236057781/ Swarleystinson88 (talk) 13:24, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah. Looks good, but make sure you use conversion correctly because USD is not used per WP:ICTFMOS. — The Herald (Benison) (talk) 13:27, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sure. Swarleystinson88 (talk) 13:30, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You have to use both sources. You cannot just select variety and ignore pinkvilla. Add a range for numbers given by both sources like in Kalki 2898 AD. RangersRus (talk) 13:36, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I went ahead and fixed it. RangersRus (talk) 13:44, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. I fixed it in List of highest-grossing South Indian films of 2024 and List of Telugu films of 2024 Swarleystinson88 (talk) 13:46, 1 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, you did it again at List of Telugu films of 2024. You have been warned multiple times and discussed at length that you CANNOT add unreliable sources or the sources which use unreliable sources (WP:FRUIT) for reporting. Kindly reverse it and add cite according to WP:ICTFSOURCES. Consider this your last (4th) warning, because next time you do this, I'm going to report you to WP:ANI and you might get blocked. Thanks. — The Herald (Benison) (talk) 16:38, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
First of all, I added NDTV as the source. Second, the list was not updated for 2 days. If other users have another reliable source, they can just go with range. NDTV is a reliable source under Wikipedia:WikiProject Film/Indian cinema task force. Swarleystinson88 (talk) 05:59, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Which part of WP:FRUIT did you not understand, dude? Please read my messages again. Thanks. — The Herald (Benison) (talk) 06:35, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So NDTV which was supposed to be legit & reliable under WP:ICTFSOURCES is suddenly unreliable sources WP:FRUIT. May I know whom NDTV cited as their source in the article I provided cause even they are under reporting? At this point it seems like Pinkvilla & BOI are forced as the only reliable Box office sources even when Sacnilk is showing the same numbers as them. So I have to cite Pinkvilla only. Swarleystinson88 (talk) 06:42, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
NDTV clearly says it is from Sacnilk.com. That is the exact definition of FRUIT. Please read the page again. It doesn't matter if New York Times is reporting, but if they are using Sacnilk.com, an established unreliable source, it is not reliable. — The Herald (Benison) (talk) 06:54, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Here to help you I saw your edits to Telugu cinema and read the most recent edit summary that you wrote. Please could you expand on this on the article talk page (Talk:Telugu cinema).-- Toddy1 (talk) 08:54, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sure. If the edit is reverted again. I will immediately expand upon this in the articles talk page. Swarleystinson88 (talk) 09:57, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
