Information icon Hello, I'm InvadingInvader. I noticed that you recently removed content from Chandel (Rajput clan) without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. InvadingInvader (talk) 04:26, 5 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If I also may suggest, consider listing your dispute as a request for a third opinion. You can ask an outside editor what they think. If you wish, do to at this page. InvadingInvader (talk) 04:53, 5 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi Suryansh Rathore! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Chandel (Rajput clan) several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Chandel (Rajput clan), please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. ∆ P&t ♀√ (talk) 00:39, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Suryansh Rathore. In your new article, Battle of Awadh (1226), you used {{sfn}} templates without providing full cites. {{sfn}} templates aren't just free text, they need to link to a full cite elsewhere in the article (e.g. {{cite book}} for instance). These need to be supplied for each work your using. If you need more information on how referencing works I suggest reading WP:REFB, it helped be when I was first starting. I see you've done the same at Keeratrai Chandel, you will need to go back and add all the missing cites there as well. If you have any questions please ask. -- LCU ActivelyDisinterested transmissions °co-ords° 21:08, 8 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

WP:REFB shows how to do basic referencing, which I suggest you start with. {{sfn}} templates are not for beginners, as they have a few complications. Have a look WP:REFB, and have a go at correcting the references at Keeratrai Chandel. If you get stuck please just drop a note on my talk page or here. -- LCU ActivelyDisinterested transmissions °co-ords° 10:14, 9 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Battle of Moradabad moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Battle of Moradabad, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 08:48, 9 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Castecruft

Please do not add the "Purbiya Rajput" castecruft to the articles on Chandela kings. Even if the dynasty's supposed Purbiya origin was supported by a reliable source (which is not the case), there is no need to add the statement that "xyz was the Purbiya Rajput king" to every article - stating that "xyz was a Chandela king" is sufficient. Any discussion about the connection between the Chandelas and the Purbiyas should be limited to the main article on the dynasty, with proper citations. utcursch | talk 23:13, 10 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Purbiya means who was the king of purvanchal known as purbiya because the capital of Vidyadhar was kalinjar, up Suryansh Rathore (talk) 05:35, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Misuse of {{sfn}} templates

Hi Suryansh Rathore. I just came across your new article Bhallaldeva Chandel, and have moved it to draft space. You must stop using {{sfn}} templates without full cites. Please read WP:REFB on how referencing works on Wikipedia, it really will help you -- LCU ActivelyDisinterested transmissions °co-ords° 14:06, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again. The same problem exists at Keeratrai Chandel, again you've added {{sfn}} templates without anything to link to. Once you have read WP:REFB you need to go back and correct "Hindustānī - Volume 36 1975", "Mug̲h̲ala darabāra, kavi-saṅgītajña: san Ī, 1531-1707 - & Śāligrāma Gupta 1999", and "Hindustānī - Volume 36 1975". I really suggest you stop trying to use {{sfn}}s until you have a better understanding of how referencing is meant to work. -- LCU ActivelyDisinterested transmissions °co-ords° 14:11, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Copy-Paste Move

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Draft:Battle of Basantpur a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Battle of Basantpur. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Hi, You will have more chance of getting your drafts approved if you clean them up first yourself. This can be quite a challenge if you are not a native speaker and until you have provided reliable and verifiable sources other users might not be ready to help. References

You've already been informed about WP:V and WP:RS above, so I'm going to keep this brief: please do not cite a reference in an article if it doesn't support the article content.

You have been doing this persistently. For example, the lead of the article Kirttivarman II (Chandel) cites six references, none of which even mention the word "Kirttivarman". The last reference mentions "Keerat Singh", but does not suggest that his dynasty was a linear continuation of the imperial Chandela dynasty.

Battle of Keeratsagar cites 3 sources (each of them two times). None of the sources have page numbers, and none of the books mention the battle described in the article.

Nearly all your contributions have such problems. Validating your edits is a huge time waster for others, and you will end up getting blocked permanently if you continue to add fake references. utcursch | talk 06:47, 14 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The article Siege of Kalinjar (1202) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The prose of this article doesn't appear to have anything to do with the current title. No indication as to what the subject of this article is actually supposed to be.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Paramardi into Siege of Kalinjar (1202-1203). While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also.
