Disambiguation link notification for April 21

Hi. When you recently edited Thomas Cree, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Distinguished Service Cross (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Your edits

Hello, nothing wrong with just doing them rather than take to the talk page (and wait for someone to complain if they feel the need)- what you have done so far seems OK to me, and most pages you will edit will have someone having a look. December 2013

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Michael Clarke (cricketer) may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • to be the most prestigious individual prize in Australian cricket, four times, in 2005, 2009 (jointly with [[Ricky Ponting]], 2012 and 2013. Only Ponting has won it as many times.

Kale

Hi Mike: you said "The article at[1] does in fact mention kale." Well understood for kale, spinach, collard greens, etc., but not easy to find for the typical encyclopedia user. Under WP:NOTADVICE, we should stick with the facts about the subject, allowing ancillary information to be interpreted by the consumer and her/his physician for the blood-clotting implications. Thanks for writing. --Zefr (talk) 15:35, 16 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Prospect Hill tree identification

Hi Spakathy, as I can see you have some good knowledge of the Prospect region and its natural bushland. Can you tell me what tree species are these in the southern summit of Prospect Hill? They are said to be designated under "Grey Box Reserve", but they don't look like eucalyptus trees to me. I don't know, maybe they could be, but they resemble conifers for some reason. Here is a photo of the said trees in the so-called Grey Box Reserve: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/1/14/Prospecthillsouth.jpg --Meganesia (talk) 15:25, 30 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Meganesia. I have explored and researched Prospect Hill without being any sort of expert in any of the fields covered in my website http://www.spathaky.name/prospecthill/. I didn't know that the South Summit had now been included within the Grey Box Reserve designation, as I thought that applied only to the bushland area bounded by Silverthorne Drive, Watkin Tench Pde, Greystanes Rd and the link footpath from the first of these to the Canal Reserve footpath (excluding the area of Boothtown Reserve and the houses in Bilpin St.). That reserve is to my memory full of eucalypts and the signage on the fence I seem to remember states that the trees are indeed Grey Box Gum.
I believe that some of the trees on the Main summit of Prospect Hill are Monterey Pine, Pinus radiata, possibly introduced in the time Nelson Lawson. I believe the original development plans for the area by Holroyd Council involved replacing these treese by native species.
Coming back to the photograph you pointed to, it is not quite sharp enough for me to say definitely that they are conifers. My memory of scrambling around the slopes of South Summit some years ago is that there were conifers there - some sort of pine I would say. I am in the UK at the moment and will not be back in Prospect for some time so regret I cannot investigate on the ground. When I was at the S end of Daruga Ave a few weeks ago I noticed that the large double gate to that area of bushland was open and it seemed as if there were preparations for further southward development of the housing area.
(If you reply you may use my full name) Mike Spathaky (talk) 08:31, 4 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Mike. Yep, unfortunately the photography was a bit too unclear as the trees were rather distant. I wish I could have taken a 'closer' photo, but I don't think there is an entryway to the southern summit (a la, South Top) or a place where I can get a proximate view of that precinct (say, are there walkways in the woody South Top anyway?). It's just that, for a "Grey Box Reserve", the trees in that summit looked rather 'skinny' and narrow to be eucalyptus. I guess this figures; Maybe the southern summit is mixed with eucalypts and those introduced pine species you mentioned. --Meganesia (talk) 01:00, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
