SpacePlace is a collaborative experiment in net-curating concerning Art in the Age of Orbitization. The collaborators are Philip Pocock and co-curator Peter Weibel, datatect Axel Heide, visual communicators, Onesandzeros and Heiko Hoos, and archivist, Heike Borowski. SpacePlace is a participatory Consumer-generated Content Mashup (web application hybrid) on-line, whose Drupal core simultaneously generates a mobile version SpacePlace mobile, and the core of a free-access Bluetooth interface for local installation. SpacePlace uses the Gotchi as metaphor for individuals and art works in orbit.

Thanks for uploading Image:Banner orbit2.gif. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
