The Witcher

Your 14 June 2018 edits to the article for The Witcher said that the anthology Maladie and Other Stories included the stories "The Road with No Return" and "Something Ends, Something Begins".

Are you sure about that? And if so, why? I don't think it has those stories. Maybe they're in the Polish version, but not the English translation. - 72.186.111.112 (talk) 01:02, 28 June 2019 (UTC)

I have now developed a theory that the English book called "Malady and Other Stories" is not a translation of the entire Polish anthology called "Malady and Other Stories." Instead it's just a translation of the single short story The Malady, and not the other short stories that were in the anthology. Plus they added a few random other things in with it. On your edit to List_of_J-Novel_Club_titles. You moved the entry for Banner of the Stars from the Completed Titles list to the Titles in Publication list. Evangelion articles

Hello. Hey there. Since you've also made some contributions to the Eva articles here, would you mind, if you have the time, to give a third opinion at Talk:Kaworu Nagisa#Section break 2? The other editor that has been updating the Eva articles is much more adamant about some of the stuff here than he was in the other articles and though his work is generally good it did need adjustments before. I already made hundreds of edits to his previous rewrites. I think he doesn't realize he's not close enough to NPOV - he used a lot of inaccurate translations and was way too selective in his representation of facts. I presented some 10+ new sources that were necessary to improve things and had to rewrite about a third of the article. He agreed to that initially but after a while just started to stonewall me. It bugs me because I don't want to discourage him. I am not sure how much you do know or care about Eva, so it might or might not be too long of a discussion, but you can probably just read the section break there and chip in - my actual detailing and sources are in the preceding wall of text, which you can ignore if you want to. Thank you. I must said I initially hadn't considered I was making things too detailed for general users but I assumed it'd be necessary to talk with the other editor. It's just that he's refusing to engage now, accusing me of vandalism and sophistry, which is why I'm looking for other people to chip in as third opinions in the talk page so he can understand what I'm coming from. Broadly, I'm reasonably sure he just went unnoposed for years in the (much less active and read) Italian wiki so he just assumes he's necessarily right. I asked some outside people to consult and one of them did chip in there but also got largely ignored. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean - Consistency in documenting official English

I don't believe there is a need to present the Japanese Translation and the English Netflix tiles in full, especially when there are only a few instances. All of the English versions of Stands are indicated by Explanatory footnotes (efn). Unless you have a strong contrary argument, I propose the titles should be handled in the same way. "(Tolkien)" articles

Hi, I saw your edit to Smaug. Another editor without discussion renamed all the (perfectly good) "XYZ (Middle-earth)" articles to "XYZ (Tolkien)" on the very disputable grounds that one shouldn't name articles in-universe. However, "Middle-earth" is certainly a thing in the real world, given the vast sales of Middle-earth books and films. Other editors are starting to stir so we may well reverse the undesirable and I think totally unhelpful and jarring change. You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on List of Shahed drones. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

Edit to Master and Margarita

Thank you for many improvements to the article about the novel. Your first edit though, which you summarized with citation?, deletes a statement supported by the previous citation from the Moscow Times (see previous sentence). The essence of the statement is repeated twice in that article; when I went to the screening of the film the director himself repeated more than once the concept, so it seems important and encyclopedic. Therefore I'm going to add back the sentence

Russia's invasion of Ukraine halted distribution in 2022, because of the director's stance about the war.

If you feel that the citation has to be repeated please go ahead adding a tag to the previous citation and then referencing that tag. In addition, Wikipedia's guidelines are that when when an editor thinks that a citation is needed, there is a tag that can be added; in other words, omitting the tag, deleting the passage, and writing in the summary of the edit that a citation is needed is deprecated.--Gciriani (talk) 18:01, 10 March 2024 (UTC)
